Missed my meeting and out $30

Excellent hotel; close to acquarium

Laundry - At 9pm, I requested having a pair of plain cotton pants washed and ironed. I was told it was impossible as the laundry doesn't go to the cleaners until 8:30am the next morning and wouldn't be back until 2pm. I said that that was not good as I had an important business mtg at 9am and asked if there was any way the man could wash them in a machine on site. He said he would "take care of it" and I tipped him $20 in addition to the basic charge of ~$10. The next morning the pants were there and even ironed but the huge barbeque stains from my 2 yr old were still all over the pants! I sat there wondering how someone could iron them and not notice the dozen or so inch-size stains. I was furious and had to cancel my meeting. All the RC employee had to say was "sorry, it can't be done" or "there's a coin operated laundry matt 3 blocks down the street." Business 101 "Under promise and over-deliver."

Downtown Atlanta comfort

The hotel has very caring staff in a downtown location. At night everyone acted very concerned about us walking outside alone in the vicinity, due to many homeless in the area. Luckily, there are lots of restaurants and tourist locations such as the Coca-Cola factory, Underground, Georgia aquarium, the Olympic park area, and CNN. Also very easy getting around the town, right next to a MARTA station, N1, and cabs are readily avaliable by the entrance.

Business or pleasure, great hotel

Wonderful décor, stunning fresh flower arrangements throughout the hotel, spotless rooms, updated baths, nice bar with nightly entertainment, great restaurant, excellent service provided by super courteous and helpful staff. If you ask for something, the staff will be on the way to get it for you before you finish the sentence...with a smile. Small but very nice gym with complimentary headphones, bottled water, fresh lemonade and a selection of fresh fruits. It was a pleasure to return to the hotel at the end of the day. I appreciated the twice-daily room service. The room was cleaned early in the day and, again, later in the afternoon. The sheets were changed every morning, which I noticed some hotels don't always do if the room is rented for multiple nights. While you're out on town, at a meeting, or sipping drinks on the hotel's cozy balcony in the evening, the staff prepares the bed for you for the night, closes the curtains, leaves a card with the weather report for the following day, chocolates and a note on your bed, which I find quite enjoyable. Room had a nicely stocked bar, guest bathrobes, umbrella's and other gadgets that many of us forget or choose not to pack, plus complementary shoe shining and clothing pressing service...the stuff that sets apart a great hotel from a good hotel. The hotel also has very nice breakfast buffet with lots of quality seasonal fruits and a great restaurant, Atlanta Grill. Both, the taste and presentation of food were excellent.Although I must confess, I have only tried a couple of dishes from the menu because I was stuck on the irresistable Atlanta Salad. It had a great balance of contrasting flavors- the sweet, honey laced dressing and brown sugar roasteed peacans combined with the bitter and moldy taste of quality blue cheese. The only negative experience I had was with guy who set up my table. On day two I was beginning to get somewhat annoyed with his attitude and his jokes or complaints about his wife and women in general. I had company for dinner one night and his "greeting" made us all very uncomfortable. Although our server was very pleasant, as usual, the sour feeling lingered at the table for a while. Too bad, because the rest of the restaurant staff really goes out of their way to make the dining experience a bliss for the guests.

Not a 5 Diamond...

I was there on business and needed to print a document. I was able to upload the document wirelessly from my room to a central printer in the hotel. Unfortunately, when I tried to retrieve the document from the printer, I was told that the printer wasn't working. Although I had a presentation in less than an hour, no one from the hotel offered to provide assistance to get the document printed. A hotel staffer actually suggested that I "email it to someone else" to print!! Also, the walls between rooms are paper thin. I was able to hear normal volume conversations taking place in the room adjacent to mine.

What a treat!

When we arrived at our hotel, the check in was smooth and all the staff was extremely friendly. Our room was very nice and clean. We stayed in a club level room so we had access to the club level lounge which was just exceptional. The concierges there were friendly and extremely attentive. We never had to eat breakfast or lunch out since there was always food available in the lounge. The only fault I had with the hotel was the bed. It was extremely hard and I did not sleep well the first night. When I mentioned this to the concierge the next morning, she immediately contacted the head of housekeeping. The problem was fixed so that I actually was able to sleep the following night. Overall, I would definitely stay here again. My advice to all other travlers; stay in a club level room. It is worth the extra money because you will feel extremely pampered.

Ritz

Overall great location and excellent Service. Elevator wait times were excessive as if only 1 of the 5 would work. The room was well kept and had all of the regular amenities with the exception of an in room coffee maker. The breakfast was pricey but phenomenal!!

Great service

The best part was the service. Everyone went out of their way to ensure me and my family were well taken care of. We could not have asked for a better experience. I would have loved for valet to be complimentary or a one-time fee as well as the additional snacks in the room. I believe adding those values will increase the overall experience.
