horrible-good gone bad- A luxury hotel would have been cheaper

Stayed sat and sunday as a b'day gift from out of state. Throat started to get sore, nit feeling well, ears hurt and some difficulty breathing, coughing, congestion. On the way home it got worse,I had an asthma attack. Saw MD and said it was definetly from the hotel room-never have problems in the summer. Now on high doses of prednisone and miserable, missing work. So with the additional md appt and missed work-the luxury hotels would have been definetly cheaper.Called the hotel to f/u and told that they would check the ac filter-maybe they should keep up w maintenance-very unpleasant experience. Had been great in the past

Quick Weekend Trip

Lived in ATL for years and came back for a visit. Great location to everything for the price. Clean white sheets but a clogged shower. Lots of partying in rooms in my hall, but we got back late both nights ourselves and didn't mind the noise. Would stay again if planning a last minute trip.

Great value for money

The Highland Inn is exactly as advertised. A kitschy, budget-minded hotel that offers a clean place to sleep and a light breakfast and nothing else. But you can't beat the price, and the location is great, which a bunch of fun antique shops and restaurants within an easy walk. If you're looking for amenities and luxuries, this is not for you. If you're happy with a clean place to sleep and friendly staff, then this is the way to go.

Quirky hotel-great value

If you are looking for a convenient location, for a great price, this is a wonderful option. No elevator, creaky steps, uneven floors in the hallways are the elements of character that can be found. The rooms are comfortable with some nice perks. Definitely an alternative to the sameness of chain hotels.

Fun and funky!

If you're looking for your typical generic hotel, amenities, yada yada yada, the Highland Inn is not for you. If you have a more adventurous streak, don't demand perfection and appreciate the real deal at a great price in a hip location, you will love this hotel. It is a gem--free off street parking and wifi is almost unheard of these days!!! The cherry on top of my visit was when the hotel cat, Pirate, decided to chill out in my room as I was donning my bridesmaid dress. The Highland Inn was a great place for my friend's wedding reception and contributed to a very special and fun weekend.
