Very questionable service

The Georgian may have once been the showplace in Atlanta, but like an aging athlete, this place needs to either retire or get some new management. Waited over an hour to check-in. When I finally got to my room, all the room towels were still being dryed in the in-room dryer. Pillows on the couch were on the floor, and the bed pillows were very musty smelling. Attentive room service was non-exsistent and the front desk staff acted like they were doing you a favor by just being there. No apology or ANYTHING for that matter. Sorry service has put me back in BUCKHEAD!!!!!!

Under Construction

There was construction being done on the whole hotel, it was inconvenient. I was early for check in but still had to wait 30 mins for my room to be ready. The light in the rooms didn't work.

Really Bad Experience...

So, I should have listened to the reviews posted before I booked the hotel. I used to live in Atlanta and I always wanted to stay at the Georgian Terrace. When I finally had a chance, i was excited. I booked a smoking room, and they did not reserve one. So, they upgraded me to a 2 bedroom suite! Upon arriving at my "suite", the room card did not open the door. After several tries, I brought an employee up and he told me you have to really "bang" the door. He was right. The rooms looked a lot like a project probably looks. It was a little larger than my 2 bedroom apartment, but it really looked 50 years old (except for the 2 plasmas that did not have functioning remotes). There were 3 phones throughout the room, not a single one worked. I had to call the front desk from my cell multiple times, the staff never fixed the phones, remotes, or door. Room service was impossible to reach, no matter how much you call. Additionally, they charged me $25 for valet services that they offered me upon arriving without explaining the charges. Check out the hotel nextdoor, Indigo.

They canceled my room without notice

They canceled my room without notifying me ahead of time. They put me in a taxi and sent me to a hotel that was in a completely different town. The cost of taxis was almost the same as an extra nights stay in the hotel. They claimed that the cancelation was due to a water leak but there were many people coming and going in the elevators. I believe they over booked the place.

The Georgian Terrace

I have probably stayed at the Georgian Terrace for 40-50 nights. Never before have I ever had a room like this. I felt like I was at a Motel 6. The room was very tiny and poorly appointed. Only one bed-side table and lamp, no ice bucket. It was certainly not worth 113.59 for the room plus 25.00 for parking. I will never use Orbitz again. Please cancel my emails.Jane Prater[@]

Not so luxurious....and a rip off

[...] I was not made aware when I checked in that it was a smoke free property. There were no signs posted, so I smoked in the room on my first night there. There was a note left on my bed the next day, so I didn't smoke in the room anymore. The third day of my trip, they locked me out of my room, and made security escort me to my room to let me in. Then my key still would not work the rest of my trip. I had to be escorted to my room after going up there and then having to go back to the front desk for assistance. Then upon checkout they charged me a $250 cleaning fee. They refused to take it off....[...] The room was old and not in very good condition. The peel and stick tile on the floor in the kitchen and closet was torn and coming up. There were spots on the ceiling in the bedroom and burn marks on all the countertops (kitchen and bathroom). This hotel [...] is a rip off.

Terribly Unsatisfied.

I arrived at the hotel to find their computers were down. They put me in a room after nearly an hour's wait, and the room was nice - but had no ashtrays. I phoned the front desk to make sure they had put me in a smoking room - since that is what I booked on [...]. They informed me they are a smoke free hotel.I pointed out that I had reserved and paid for - in advance - a smoking room. They instructed me to call [...] if I had a problem with it.A few moments later, they phoned and alerted me they were moving me.Rather than make my dinner date, I repacked -and waited 30 minutes (at which point I phoned them again) for the bellboy who was going to move me and "should be up in five minutes". The room they moved me to was much smaller and much less nice.[...]the manager [...] decide to cancel my reservation and process a refund to my debit card. So, I am miles from home, and told that my reservation has been cancelled, they will give me my money back in 3-5 days, and they cannot find anywhere in the city to put me up for the same price, smoking or non. I am thoroughly unhappy, but have little choice to accept - since the alternative is sleeping on the street. [...] many hours later, I am in a tiny room that is not what I paid for, with neither [...] nor the hotel taking any responsibility for having sold me something they couldn't deliver. And to top it off, you didn't even wait for the refund to charge my card. Instead, you charged it for the money that was supposed to feed me while I was there, and I had to borrow money in order to be able to eat.[...]Neither - will I stay at the Georgian Terrace hotel again. This was my second stay there, and while the first stay was fantastic - this visit was deplorable.

Disappointed! NOT recommended

Unfortunately, I did not have a very positive experience at this hotel. There was no hot water when I first arrived (I did Sunday morning though). The toilet ran (leaked and refilled) constantly throughout the night even after notifying the front desk about the issue. The elevators are a joke. Thre was a line waiting to get on them at ALL times. I have had better rooms for cheaper prices. The only redeeming factor was the fact that it was right across the street from the Fox Theatre. But even so, I will not stay here again. It felt as if the hotel had the attitude that it was "THE GEORGIAN TERRACE - NATIONAL HISTORIC LANDMARK. AND WE ARE NOT GOING ANYWHERE SO WHO CARES ABOUT YOUR LITTLE ONE NIGHT STAY." Even upon checking out, I was not asked about my stay when the women checking out beside me was asked. When I mentioned the issues, all I was told was that he would make a note of it. Again, this hotel is not recommended. I will make other arrangements next time. Len Queen
