The Georgian Terrace Hotel

I was in Atlanta to preach at a local church on Sunday June 10. I arrived on Saturday. The location was just fine. Check in was fine, though clerk's demeanor was a little cold and aloof - not sure why. The room was very small and tight (Room 501). Very clean, however. TV was in the small bedroom with a separate sitting and work section. A little awkward - could not sit and watch TV. I sat at the foot of the bed and it actually lifted up off the frame, nearly causing me to slide to the floor. A microwave would be nice. My bill had a bar tab of $20. I ate at a local eatery with a pastor friend on Saturday, getting in late. When I brought it to the attention of the clerk on duty I was subjected to an investigation - I got the "look" and questions. I stood there while the clerk retrieved and actually flipped through bar receipts. A little insulting. When no resolution was forthcoming, another inquiry generated a response that the charge had been removed. No apology for this inconvenience was offered. My repeated inquiry about how such a thing could happen was ignored. I sensed I was the suspect. I make clear $20 was not my issue - insignificant. It was the fact a hotel of that status could make such a mistake and mishandle the situation. I was finally told someone pressed the wrong button. A little frustrated, I walked away without asking for or getting a revised bill. I'm st ill waiting for the $75 credit card cover charge to be removed. Cafe Mims was nice. The business center was also very useful. Staff members were generally very friendly and helpful. I don't understand the front desk. Overall, I'm not sure I will stay at this hotel in the future. Would I recommend it for others? I think I would, as I would not expect what happened to me to happen to others. Stay away from small tight rooms. KH

Georgian Terrace is the perfect location for visiting or doing business or the going to the Fabulous Fox Theater. The proximity to MARTA and the airport is ideal too. The staff is very gracious. One elevator was out of of order when I was there, so there was a long wait. I'd love to see a complimentary continental breakfast and some sort of a "frequent visitor" rate, since I visit in this area quite frequently

Hotel was as advertised, a beautiful historic hotel in a very nice part of Atlanta. Lots of southern charm. The staff was great, the hotel facilities grand, the view from the gym and rooftop pool could not be better. I short walk to Piedmont Park which is great for bicycle riding. The botanical gardens in the park were incredible. The Fox Theater was beautiful, the performance great. Although I was alone on business, I would definitely return with the family for vacation.

Possibly the greatest bed and feather pillows in the world are in rm 1714. So often a hotel has only huge pillows and I end up using a towel for a pillow. The GTH made my day (and night). On the down side I wish additional costs were detailed before making reservations- parking overnight was $25 so the flight+hotel package turned out to be less than completely positive.

Spent 1 night at the Georgian for a business trip, beautiful hotel with great amenities. Dinner at the attached restaurant was fantastic, overall beautiful decor, and rooftop pool with amazing views. Would definitely stay here again!

This place is a lot nicer than I am accustomed to and had a lot of nice features; penthouse pool, gym. A bit pricy but it is uptown all the way.

I found the room very clean and very small, but quite comfortable. I had booked a "regular" room and I got a regular room. I am not hard to please, so this was perfect for me. I did not spend a lot of time in the room (my son was graduating from Emory and I was out celebrating most of the time). I would recommend this room to anyone who is visiting Atlanta for business. There was a small room on the side of the bedroom, perfect for reading, working, or simply hanging out (one comfortable chair only!!).

Enjoyed my stay. The staff was very pleasant and helpful.

The Georgian Terrace is one of our favorite places to stay when we go to Atlanta. Southern hospitality is always present from the door man to the chambermaid. The location is excellent, especially if you are into to walking as it is centrally located to many of the local attractions. We look forward to many more stays at this hotel when we travel to Atlanta. One wish is they bring back some rocking chairs on the porch!
