Stayed one night to finish up the tail end of a business trip. The staff was very welcoming from the get-go. The room was ... also nice, with a nice King bed and flat panel TV. The fitness room was superb with a couple tread mills, ellipticals, and some weights. The pool was very cool and had a nice tropic setting. It was a great location as it was walking distance from the Olympic Centennial Park, Aquarium, and Wold of Coca-Cola as well as Atlanta Underground and other places to eat and drink. Excellent value for the Orbitz rate!

I was at the Sheraton for a 3 day conference. When I checked in, I was given a room that had two beds and smelled like ... smoke. I returned to the front desk and they gladly gave me a room with 1 king bed. This second room did not smell smokey. However, I was unaware that construction was going on and would begin every morning at 7:30am. In addition, my toilet didn't work very well. Someone came to the room to plunge it, intending on fixing the problem I guess. But the toilet wasn't clogged it just didn't flush well meaning that it didn't suction anything down. When I told the front desk that it wasn't fixed they again offered me another room. I decided to just deal with it because I didn't want to pack up my stuff. The concierge was also particularly helpful with navigating the city for additional restaurants and shopping destinations. Just about every staff person that I encountered at the Sheraton was happy to assist me. I guess the pool is nicer than your standard indoor hotel pool because it has a retractable roof and it was slightly bigger than your average pool. The gym was adequate with about 10-12 cardio machines and a few other weight machines. The conference facilities were great. The food provided was also good, not excellent but what you would expect for banquet food. I did not eat in the restaurants other than grabbing a cup of soup at the deli, which was also good. The deli was cheap too, one morning I had a cup of cereal with milk that was about $3.00 and a cup of soup was about $4.00. On a great note, the hotel does provide a small computer lab area with free internet access and a printer- a huge plus for the business traveler! It also is in walking distance to many restaurants such as Benihana, Mexican food, a diner and quick serve outlets such as Quizno's.

Great Value in Downtown Atlanta
Martha Jul 15, 2008
This was the best value I've gotten on a hotel in downtown Atlanta in the 10 years we've been going to the Gift Mart. ... The location was great, the room was everything a 3 or 4 star hotel is expected to be. Especially liked being on the poolside floor...an oasis in the middle of a very hot Atlanta.

Dwayne Jul 5, 2008
Check in was a breeze. Not terribly impressed with the immediate location, but it is close to the major restaurants ... downtown. The amenities at the hotel are great. The pool is the selling point. Was a little disappointed with the room itself (very small and outdated bathroom), but the balcony was a nice feature. Staff seemed helpful enough, but was only there for one night. Hot tub could of used a cleaning. Overall a very positive experience at the Sheraton Atlanta.

We stayed at the Sheraton hotel in Midtown the night of our wedding in order to get to Hartsfield Jackson Airport the next ... day. It is at a great location with easy access to the Peachtree Center and the Marta station. The hotel was very reasonable in price and the entire hotel was extremely clean. We will definately be staying at the Sheraton the next time we need to stay in Atlanta.

Right downtown, strange parking situation
Alissa Jun 16, 2008
The Sheraton Atlanta was a wonderfully comfortable hotel right downtown. The service at the front desk and the concierge desk ... was excellent. I did note that this was one of the hotels that had been part of the uncover investigation of unclean glasses in the bedrooms; I noticed these were plastic covered disposable cups. Not the best for the environment, but certainly more sanitary. The rooms were kept at a wonderfully cool 69 degrees, the bed was soft and all the appliances worked well in the room. The only downside is the parking situation. Getting to the hotel from the parking ramp involves walking on a two-foot wide path down the ramp WITH TRAFFIC moving around you. It was a frightening experience for 3 adults, and one I wouldn't want to try with small children. However, valet service was available. We had several destinations in Atlanta and all were easily accessible from the hotel. The restaurants were excellent, as was the deli service. Overall, a very good experience.

Poor drainage
June Sep 30, 2007
I tried to take a shower and in just a few moments, the water was up to my ankles. We called maintenace and there was a ... delay in their arrrival. we were more than an hour late meeting friends at a great restaurant. The drainage problem was taken care of but each cleaning person had to have noticed that the water was not properly draining even when the tube was being cleaned. We could have been spared this very frustrating, and disgusting situation if someone had just taken ownership of the problem and taken care of it BETWEEN guests.

I STAYED HERE FOR CLASSES I WAS ATTENDING. AFTER THE 2ND VISIT I DECIDED NOT TO STAY THERE AGAIN. THESE WERE WEEKEND ... CLASSES AND APPARENTLY EVERYTHING CLOSES DOWN ON THE WEEKENDS. THE DINING OPTIONS AT THE HOTEL IS A 24 HOUR DELI, A RESTAURANT THAT IS NOT OPEN A LOT ON THE WEEKEND AND A HIGHEND RESTAURANT THAT IS NOT WORTH THE MONEY. I WOULD NOT WALK ON THE CARPET WITH BARE FEET. ENOUGH SAID. THE NEIGHBORHOOD IS NOT GOOD AND HAS 24 HOUR SURVEILANCE. THERE ARE NO LITTLE SHOPS OR COFFEE SHOPS, BISTROS, ETC. I WON'T STAY AT THIS HOTEL AGAIN AND HAVE RECOMMENDED TO THE COMPANY WHO ARRANGED FOR THE CLASSES THERE THAT THEY DON'T USE THAT HOTEL AGAIN.

Not What I Expected
Aaron Sep 16, 2007
My stay at the Sheraton had both positives and negatives. After checking in I went out on the town for the night. ... Coming back late I night I found my room to be 92.4 degrees. The desk sent someone up and 30 minutes later they decided it could not be fixed quickly and got me another room. This was nice except for the inconvenience of packing all my stuff up and changing rooms (and floors) in middle of the night. The night manager tried to pacify me with vouchers for a free breakfast, which honestly made me more upset than with the situation to begin with. On checking out, the general manager took care of the situation a little better. I also had an extra $24 of parking charges that I had to deal with upon checkout. Beisdes the initial room and parking issues. My room was very nice and clean. If it wasn't for the other issues I would be very happy with my stay.

Beds were great
Cara Sep 9, 2007
Speaking of beds, that was the very best part of the hotel - they were so comfortable and the linens were nice and soft with ... what looked like fairly new duvet covers on the down comforter. Having the nice beds made up for the slight smokey/stale air in the room. We have mixed reviews about the staff - according the the bellman (who was great), the front desk staff was all new and it showed in thier attitude and haughtiness. The concierge was a little standoffish at first, but then warmed up and was fairly helpful. The staff in the executive area was very friendly. They have started a new shuttle service during the week in which the driver will take you anywhere within a two mile radius - the drivers were very nice. They do not have a shuttle to and from the airport, but are supposedly thinking of implementing that. Overall our experience turned out well and we would go back if we are in the area again.

The Georgia Aquarium, Olympic Park, CNN Atlanta and the Coca Cola Museum are all within a two mile radius of the hotel, and a safe walk. Nice getaway within the city
Jacob Sep 3, 2007
The Sheraton Atlanta Hotel was a very plesent place to stay. It provided a very relaxed feeling when I returned each night ... from my busy days. The lounge and cocktail bar was a place where people who weren't through with their night when they returned could go to mingle with friends and meet new people all at once. I enjoyed the spacious room and the comfort of the beds that provided a peaceful night of sleep each night. The location of the hotel was excellent for food and shopping. It was only one block from the Hard Rock Cafe and a cute shopping mall.
