I couldn't have made a better choice
Everyone on the staff was friendly and extremely helpful. In one week we got to know the front desk staff, the managers on duty and the housekeeping staff, they also got to know us by name. the location is fabulous, only one block from the MARTA station and bus stops thatt allow you to see all of Atlanta without renting a car. I will definitely go to this hotel on my next trip to Atlanta.

The Melia was close to the convention center, pretty much in the heart of Atlanta. I enjoyed the view from the sky to the city's goings on. It is very conveniently close to a gas station that has cheap snacks if you'd like. It was very clean, staff was accomidating, and the breakfast bar was delicious. This would be my first choice everytime I come to Atlanta.

Weekebd getaway
I really enjoyed the atmosphere and decor of the lobby and pool areas. I was however, a little disappointed by the actual decor of the room; the carpet could have used a shampoo and I did not feel that we did not receive enough information about the hotel amenities (at check-in we were simply given the keys to our room and sent on our way), Overall the staff at the hotel was very helpful and friendly.

Don't stay here
I would not recommend staying at this hotel. Go to the Georgian Terrace instead if there is vacancy. I'm not a complainer but felt that I should share our experience to help others avoid this hotel. When we first checked in and got to our room, we had requested a non-smoking room and were not happy when we entered a room that smelled like a cigarette. And then to top the smell, the room had not even been cleaned. Once we got a clean room it was small and the decor was very outdated. There were some other things about our stay here that we did not like, but I'll stop here. Go to the Georgian Terrace instead.

Lacking Classy Evening Entertainment
I was staying for one night and was excited to share a girls night with my Mother in-law. I have stayed in other boutique hotels and always enjoy the lounge on premises. Unfortunately, are only choices were a sports bar lacking in any personality and only the Bartender as wait staff or the pool bar which was blairing with music and bikini clad youth. We were also disappointed in the lack of staff recomendations.

Melia Atlanta
Other than trying to figure out why there are Os all over the place for a hotel that's had various other names recently that didn't begin w/ O, Melia is what you see is what you get. A bit of a party spot at night and going there in August meant that the restaurant was mainly closed except for breakfast; but it was a nice place to lay my head for a weekend. Would recommend and visit again.

couple's getaway
We left some clothing on our bed and they said they could not do any housekeeping. We did not get clean towels or the trash dumped. How the clothes on the bed kept them from the rest of the housekeeping was a mystery! There was a private party on the pool terrace roof deck and we could not use this when we wanted to relax. I checked 5 soda machines on 5 floors and I could not get a coke as they were all out. This, being, in the city where Coke headquarters is located. Kind of ironic! Lobby bar was never staffed except in the A.M. We could hear all traffic even though we were on the 12th floor. It kept waking us up. No refrigerator or microwave. 4star, What a joke! I have had better amenities at a Motel 6!

first time in downtown atlanta
the downstairs decor was lovely and the service was great. HOWEVER, there was no mention of the monthly all male nude review being held last weekend on the hotel site. breakfast was included with the room price, but because of the event, the hotel was very crowded and the queues for the restaurant were unbelievably long. call the hotel before booking to find out what events are being held.

Overall a good thing...
All in all it was a decent stay. It was centrally located and to me that was most important since I didn't plan on staying in the hotel for much of my stay. The hotel looks to be gearing for a renovation so it's a bit of an older feel. Housekeeping took forever to come bit eventually they did. The parking situation wasnt a great one. They offer valet at $28 a day, but told me that AFTER I parked in the self park garage at $15 per entry. Overall, it was a great value.
