Not Pleased With Reservation Problem

Hotel had the wrong dates and only one room reserved when two were booked through Orbitz. It took 30 minutes for them to make it right and then the rooms given were three FLOORS away from each other. I am a single father of four children and it was not optimal for my family to be separated. Orbitz had it right (thank you) but the Georgia Tech Hotel had it wrong. At least they gave me two rooms at the quoted price but it was a hassle. Hotel staff was courteous and patient but in today's electronic age how did they get it so wrong? The dates were three days off and only one room was in their system. I will be in Atlanta again but I will never go there or recommend that hotel to anyone ever. The hotel is also a moderate walk from the MARTA stations through some rough neighborhoods. MARTA was, however, a very well run, clean, efficient operation. My hat's off to the city of Atlanta for their superb subway system. Thank you.

Out of touch with the modern world

It is an average hotel. Stayed 1 night. Sheets and bathroom were clean, there was no noise. Breakfast was good. Most of the value comes from its location. What disappointed me is that they wanted to charge wireless internet access fee of $10 per computer. The management of this hotel have no idea about what their competitors are offering. I travel a good amount for professional meetings all over the US. I stay at anywhere from 1-star to 4-star hotels regularly, and for the past couple years this is the single hotel that wanted to charge for wireless internet. Would never stay at this hotel again.

Walking distance to daughter's place.

I had stayed here when it was brand new. The hotel hasn't aged much. If I had a complaint it was the inconsideration of guests who slam doors and make loud conversation in the hallway. The housekeeping staff was also noisy on a couple of the mornings I wanted to sleep in. Otherwise, I wore earplugs and thought it was quiet at night with occasional sirens going by.

We liked it

We have stayed at the Convention Center several times now. The parking pass required asking at the desk before you went in to get a parking ticket. We have figured this out and now it is fine. We didn't have a tooth brush and thought they would have a complimentary one but we had to sped less than $2 which was fine. The desk people have always been competent and the location in Midtown is great. We went to the Aquarium this time which was less than a couple miles away.

Very Nice Hotel

The hotel was very nice and clean. The staff was nice and professional. I like to use jacuzzis for relaxation when I travel but the jacuzzi's water seemed like it needed to be recycled. Outside of that the facility was nice. I loved the breakfast buffet. Very delicious food and great dining staff. This is not the best location for sightseeing and dining out unless you want to be away from the downtown crowd. The surrounding resturaunts were not great. I'm not one who likes to walk long distances but I did walk downtown and visited "the underground" and a few other places and took the train back to the station nearest to the hotel. I usually stay at the Marriott's but I was not disappointed with this one. Very nice.

EXTREMELY Classy - Moreso than expected.

Fantastic location in downtown Atlanta! Incredible experience. The room was spotless with a 37" LG HDTV and excellent amenities. Room service was a bit pricey, but I suppose that's to be expected. Unusual for a place of this caliber to charge separately for internet access and not have any deals on parking ($10/day). The only negative I can think of is that being a 21 year old, the concierge staff seemed a bit nervous having us roaming around the club house and pool tables late at night. Highly recommended. You won't regret it.

Nightlife tip: Long walk from hotel

If you've never been to Atlanta's nightlife before, take your time and be careful of where you end up. Apparently it's a long standing scam for people to pretend to be parking lot attendants and take your money up front when you are actually still expected to pay when you leave. BE WARNED!

Nickel and Dime

The hotel touts itself as one of the most technologically advanced hotels in the area. This might be true, however, when you have to pay extra for all of the amenities, it doesn't matter. 10 bucks a day for internet in the room, 10 bucks for this that and everything. Not worth it, I felt as though I was getting nickle and dimed for everything.

School's out

This is a great location especially if you have a son/daughter at Georgia Tech. We have used this hotel several times during our son's first year in college away from home. We were able to get a great rate and our stay was very restful although very brief.

very nice, great location

super convenient to Ga Tech and MARTA. parking is awkward (u walk out of garage and into hotel front entrance, even though garage is attached). no safety concerns as Ga Tech police station is located at exit to parking structure, and it's really a short walk. hotel is new, clean and nicely furnished. pool and fitness room were nice, clean and well-maintained. unfortunate that you have to pay extra for internet, and the free internet pcs in the lobby can have trouble with some pop-up ads due to the configuration of the browser
