An abundance of quality in the heart of downtown Atlanta
The Atlanta Marriott Marquis towers above the heart of downtown Atlanta. This 50-story building has 1,569 rooms and 94 suites. It's business-friendly and includes 84 separate meeting rooms and 160,000 square feet of meeting space. Sports fans love High Velocity, one of Atlanta's biggest sports bars, with 21 separate plasma screens. Several more restaurants and bars cater to a variety of tastes. The downtown location on Atlanta's world-famous Peachtree Street provides easy access to many of Atlanta's best attractions and shopping. The easy access to the Marta commuter rail system and area interstates make the rest of the city easy to get to.

Getaway Retreat!
I loved all there was to love! The Spa service was AMAZING!! The location was perfect!! Smack in the middle of it all.. The restaurants in the hotel are excellent also.. You really have no need to leave the hotel.. Everything you'll want or need is already there. Including the indoor/outdoor pool.. Which is heated out doors!!!

Short walk from hotel
There is a publix supermarket not far from the hotel. I went and got my snacks n wine from there to save on spending extra money. If you walk there the supermarket will call you a cab to go back BUT.. The fare should be no more than $7.00 back to the hotel.

We were in town for the AMCP convention that was held in the lobby of the hotel--very convenient. We arrived just after midnight due to a flight delay, but you wouldn't have any inkling from the staff hospitality that it was so late. They were kind and didn't seem like 2nd-string employees at all. They asked if we preferred to be higher or level in the hotel, and were able to accommodate our choice. The few (and definitely tolerable) surprises: (1) We arrived to find our room disability-equipped. It is understandable that normal rooms may have been limited at the time of our arrival, but advance notice would have been nice. (2) The hairdryer did not work, but the cleaning staff was happy to provide a prompt replacement when we mentioned it to them. (3) For some reason the drop ceiling tile in the closet was not seated properly, like someone had hidden something in there and removed it in a hurry. In our free time, for dinner we wandered around to Sweet Georgia's Juke Joint, and, at the suggestion of the concierge, Ray's In The City the next day for lunch. We were quite pleased with the food in close proximity to the hotel-- 2 for 2. Not bad. This was the first time I stayed in a Marriot and I can't complain too much.

Sweet Georgia's Juke Joint is a short walk from the hotel. There was a live band and we had nice southern meal. There was a note on the menu stating a fee for the live entertainment during dinner hours, but we weren't charged. Ray's In The City looked pricey, but they had an affordable lunch menu with great food.

Spectacularly designed hotel and awesome service!
Wait until you see this hotel! Incredible design! The 47-story atrium will take your breath away as the undulating lines of this dynamic design mesmerize you. Any direction you look is beautiful and fascinating. The colors are energetic and masterfully combined. Then there are the wonderfully courteous, friendly, and helpful staff who make the experience even better. Everyone we dealt with there was top-notch! We enjoyed delicious meals in their beautiful fine dining restaurant, Sear, and the High Velocity sports bar. Fantastic friendly service from the wait staff and bartenders. We enjoyed a beautiful cityview from our 20th story room which was very clean and comfortable. Room service was very responsive and friendly. And the feather-topped beds felt very comfortable and luxurious. Then to round it all out, the location is very near many of Atlanta's popular attractions. The whole experience spoiled me and next time we are in Atlanta, you will definitely find us staying at the fabulous Atlanta Marriot Marquis.

Short drive from hotel
We attended two concerts at the Fabulous Fox Theatre while we were there and the Georgia Aquarium, which was awesome too. We took taxis to the Fox Theatre (less than a mile) to avoid having to deal with parking. Make time to go on a tour of this beautiful, historic grand theatre. It is truly fabulous. The Georgia Aquarium was a very short drive too with convenient parking and we thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon there. The show Dolphin Tales was fantastic. Don't miss it!

FANTASTIC MOTHER/SON GETAWAY
THE STAFF WAS WONDERFUL AS WE WERE FIRST TIME TRAVELERS THE HOTEL IS CENTRALLY LOCATED IN TOWN MY SON AND I DID THE AQUARIUM, THE ZOO, COKE TOUR, HARD ROCK CAFE AND CYCLORAMA. THE INDOOR/OUTDOOR POOL WAS AWESOME AND SUPERB DINING AND ROOM SERVICE. MY SON SAID THE BEDS WERE MADE IN HEAVEN

Good choice for family trip to Aquarium
We stayed at the Marquis last year for a trip to the aquarium and my 5 year old son liked the hotel so much that it was all he really talked about after that trip. He loves the glass elevators and escalators and the grand scale of this very conference oriented hotel. He also loves the indoor/outdoor pool. We were again pleased with our stay and would certainly return. We didn't walk to the aquarium this time but as I recall it is about a half a mile walk. [...]

The line at the Starbucks on Sat morning was very long. Be prepared for that if you are there on a weekend I guess as it seems there are a lot of business travelers that pass through.
