No Mo HoJo

Came to Athens for the ballgame and based on some of the reviews not being bad, we chose this motel. We were in a no-smoking room and there were cigarette burns in the bedcovers, on the microwave top and in the carpet. The bedcovers smelled horrible and the pillows were nasty and uncomfortable. The walls are paper thin and you can hear people in the next room like they were sitting next to you. The description says that it is 1.5 miles from the downtown area, WRONG, it is 3 miles to downtown. I would walk 1.5 miles but not 3. Breakfast was not very good. I would pay the extra to stay at some the other places closer to downtown, it would be worth the extra money.

Good value

Stayed two nights while working in Athens. Mainly needed a shower and a bed. You can tell the hotel is not new but the room was clean, comfortable and serviced each day. I especially liked the fact that after gaining entry to your room through a secure common hallway, each ground floor room has a sliding glass door just steps from your car for convenient loading/unloading. Staff was polite and helpful.

Good experience

We went to Athens for my Alumni Class Reunion. The premises were clean. The font desk was very helpful and polite. My only complaint is that the bed was uncomfortable, seems the matress needs to be replaced with a new one.

Athens

This hotel was very sketchy -- it was dirty and very poorly maintained. For the expense, we expected lots better even for a football weekend.

Clean Rooms and Swimming Pool

We came in to town for the Georgia Dawgs game. We checked in for one night only. The staff was very freindly and quick. We had a room on the first floor next to the pool. I would recommend for families with kids that swim. We were able to sit by our room and watch our child swim and then played a little catch in the grass. The room was clean. The location was great. We could easily drive to several restaurants within a mile from the hotel. We were about 3 miles from the stadium so we did park closer in the morning before the game.

Recent Visit

our first time to stay at this hotel. The grounds are very well kept, the rooms are very clean. The hall ways are enclosed and has a strong odor of smoke. Limited free breakfast. Overall, very good for the money.

Reasonable Hotel

I came in with my Dad to visit the law school. It was a decent location if you have a car, as it was just a 5-10 minute drive to the North Parking Deck depending on traffic. It was clean and didn't have any particularly lingering scents. The toilet did run periodically, but it wasn't a serious issue. We were able to check in early, which was very helpful, and the staff was friendly enough for our one night stay. If you are a light sleeper, a car alarm going off in the middle of the night might be an issue for you, but they did have a very strict "No Noise" policy posted. All in all, pretty good value for the rate.
