"Unbeatable location for the price"

We were in Athens for a tour of the University. Our daughter will be a high school senior in the fall. The University was our first college tour on our list of colleges for the summer. Checking for a nice hotel near the University was not difficult after reading the hotel guest reviews on the website for the Holiday Inn Express. I must say the hotel was very clean, staff was very friendly from the desk, dining area and room services. The room was exceptional, the smell was of newness, the lining and pillows were very comfortable. The bathroom was sparkling of cleanliness. I'm one that brings the Lysol liquid and spray for the bathroom/beds but everything was super clean. Yes, they did have remodeling going on but it was not where you could see/hear. Everything in the room worked. We were next to the University and walking distant to all of the restaurants and downtown shopping. Yes, we will recommend the hotel to our friends and family. Yes, we will return if our daughter chooses the University for the fall of 2012.

Good deal

i stayed for a night - checked in at 7:00 pm and checked out at around 8 am the next morning. everything from the room service to the way the room was actually kept clean and ready was great. i had forgotten to pack a few toiletries and the staff were very prompt in getting me those (at no cost). the check in and check out process was fast and got completed in a blink. everything in the room worked - the iron (very very helpful), tv, etc..

my only suggestion would be for them to keep the room service hours for later than 10 pm - you cannot get food ordered after 10 pm. so keep that in mind.

The girl at the front desk was all smiles. We chose this hotel because of the location right downtown. We didn't spend much time at the hotel, just slept and took a shower in the morning.

Every time I go back to Athens, I have to stop at Speak Easy on Broad St. The tapas are great and their daily specials are always delicious.

Super Location for the price!

The hotel was very clean and comfortable. We loved the fact that it was located right next door to the University of Georgia since we were taking a campus tour the next morning. We had breakfast the next morning in the hotel cafeteria, which I wouldn't recommend. The manager who seated us was more interested in what room we came from than good service. There were 3 tables of people, and our service was very slow! He scowled the entire time we were in the restaurant, and made us very uncomfortable!

Nice hotel in Athens, GA

Hotel is old but renovated and in a great location. I stay here often. Only real complaint this time was that there were tiny ants in the bathroom. Didn't say anything until I checked out and was offered free breakfast but was in a hurry to leave so could not accept. Overall good hotel and very comfy beds ...
