Lake Roy Beach Inn

It was the only hotel on a lake in Winter Haven but the photos of the rooms and facilities were misleading. I did not realize that it had a 2 star rating. We got bit by bed bugs.the key to the door needed upgrading, the shutters on the blind for the front window were damaged, the electrical wiring for the coffee maker and microwave were not safe. The manager/owner was very pleasant and always helpful.

It was clean but very dated. Towels were old and so was everything else

1950's era construction and aesthetics....good value/economical when compared to newer competitors and their price points....well maintained but lacks any contemporary upgrades or destination type amenities.....looks and feels like the old motels of yesteryear.

This was a wonderful place for a weekend trip, loved it!!!

The Inn was very small, quaint, and personal. I arrived late in the evening, but the management had my room ready and were very personable. The WiFi didn't work in my room at first, but they took the time and effort to get it up and running for me. The floors are hard tile, the beds are average in comfort, and the shower was standing- no tub- but overall I had a pleasant stay. I didn't stay long enough to enjoy the view the next morning, but I could see that the location on the lake was beautiful. There's also an Ihop within walking distance, so that's a plus!

Charming little hotel. Very clean, decor is a little dated but large rooms. View of the lake is fabulous, there is a nice dock and deck around the lake. there is a sand volleyball court and pool. Staff is very accommodating. Would recommend to my friends. Would have liked to have hair dryer in room, but this is available on request.

I've stayed there a number of times, alone and with friends, and it's great. Pay the little bit extra for a room that faces the lake. Stunning sunsets! The pool is great. It's not a fancy place but it's clean, comfortable, and has free WiFi. There is a dock and several covered picnic tables and several grills if you want to cook.

The picture on the website is their newly remodeled suite. It goes for $178 per night. The room we chose overlooks the lake so I paid about $100. For that price I was expecting something nicer, like the picture. The room was very old and needed a lot of work. There was even a cork-board on the wall. The good thing in all of this is the staff allowed us to stay in the suite for extra $10. If not I would have thought really hard about losing the $100 and staying somewhere else. Will I ever go back...no.

This motel is old and tired. Definitely not 3 stars!
