You get what you pay for...

If you want a really great nights sleep, this is not the place for you. Starting from the beginning - the address would not come up on the GPS. The GPS would only find 14800 and the address is 14200. Minor issue, but a bit of a inconvenience. Check in is listed at 4pm and we arrived at 10. I was told that there were no exceptions with early check in so we drove around for hours. At 330 we arrived back at the hotel and were told that 2 pm would have been fine to check in. Coming up to the room there is little access to the rooms at the ends of the halls (only one elevator in the center of the hotel)... and we were located all the way at the end of the hall on the 3rd floor. The room was ok - broken blinds, tiny televisions, no tv in the 2nd bedroom, broken doors & old smell, but I can overlook that. I was annoyed that there was no patio furniture, but a call to the front desk and that was fixed within 10 minutes. What I cannot overlook is the ABSOLUTELY AWFUL bed. It is thin, the springs pop and it is terribly uncomfortable. It is also very noisy - walls are paper thin, patio doors are not sound proof (warning: ask to face the pool and not the road) and every running child or heavy walker can be heard. There is no WiFi in the rooms (free or paid) and the free WiFi in the lobby is timed. Overall I'd rate this place a 3/5. The location is nice, but there are better places to stay at a comparable price.

Huge Rooms

We stayed 5 adults in total. The master bedroom even had Jacuzzi. We totally loved this hotel. Just the carpet was a little dirty and had a smoking smell.

Birthday Vacation

I have stayed at the Palisades resort in 2012 and 2014 previously and this year was by far the worst year there. I have ALWAYS checked in early (early before Noon) at the resort with NO fees and this year I was charged a $50 early check in fee. Our room was missing silverware, the non-stick coating on the pots and pans were peeling off, many of the drinking and wine glasses were missing, the resort usually provides one free sample of washing power (for the washing machine) and that was not in the room. We stayed in a 3-bedroom suite -- the queen bedroom and twin bedroom didn't have any blankets (it had sheets ONLY) on them so my little sister & best friend had to sleep under just a sheet the first night. The second bathroom had a rusty shower rod and the tub had stains in it (it had been cleaned, but the tub needs to be replaced due to staining). There is wired internet available in he rooms however there was no cord in the room like it had been previously so I had to go to the front desk to get it and there was no iron in the room with the ironing board so we had to request that one be brought to the room. Lastly, one of the chairs in the living room was completely broken -- the springs were literally coming out of the bottom of the chair and my sister almost fell completely through the chair! We have always loved the Palisades Resort because it had been affordable (however this year the room was almost $40 higher per night, but with the condition of this particular suite it should have been lowered) and the stay there was always great, but this year was horrible. Next year when we visit Florida we will not be staying at the Palisades Resort.
