Quick December 2011 Getaway

Staff is very accommodating. The room is basic but clean. The grounds are immaculate as is the lobby. Breakfast was adequate. Did not use the pool but could have. It is VERY convenient to I-95 and a number of stores and restaurants along Palm Beach Lakes Blvd. Spent two evenings at "City View" which is not more than ten minutes away by car. Overall, a very good value. There have been previous comments about safety/security concerns for this location but I did not find this to be an issue in any way, i.e., I felt safe at all times. I would definitely stay there again!!

Go to "City View". There are many fine shops and a Macy's. We went twice to McCormick and Schmick's" for their happy hour. We then walked around and had dinner. Overall, a pleasant way to spend an evening.

No Shuttle!

I landed @10:30pm and phoned them, but the guy told me shuttle only runs between 7 to 11 and the driver left for the day, indicated I have to take a cab to the hotel. Very old and too simple breakfast. It was not a pleasant stay.

Nice Hotel, Bad Location

This is a nice hotel with lovely grounds that are very well maintained but, alas, it is right on the edge of a very, very bad neighborhood. The only thing that saves it is the proximity to I-95. Once there was a large mall just across the street but it is, for all intents and purposes, closed. This bad neighborhood becomes all the worse as it is necessary to pass through it on the way to the downtown and Palm Beach. As a result of the bad neighborhood, this hotel does not exactly attract the best clientele.

Dining tip: Short drive from hotel

There is really no fine dining or other nice amenities nearby and, unfortunately, since this hotel is on the edge of a very bad neighborhood, one must pass through all of this to get to the downtown of West Palm Beach and on to Palm Beach.

Quick overnight stay.

The hotel was great, close to where I needed to be the next morning. I didn't get in till 2:00 am because of delays. The manager knew who I was the minute I walked in the door. I called earlier in the day to let them know that I wouldn't get in until 1:30 or so. The room was just off the pool, but didn't get to use it, had to check out at 9:00 am. Very clean and comfortable beds. Would definately stay again when I come back to town.

Relocating Trip

I was relocating from Michigan to Florida. My stay was average. If I have anything to complain about is UPGRADE/RENOVATE to Best West to modern fashion. Renovate all bathrooms, outdated! Get Flat or Panel Televisions. I did see some renovations, not enough. MORE, MORE and MORE renovations!!! Having a laundry for guest is excellent amenities. In my opinion, Best Western Palm Beach Lakes hotel rates is expensive with outdated furnishings. Exterior, it is beautiful. This is West Palm Beach, Florida, VERY overrated!!
