A treasure on Florida’s west coast

Location, cleanliness, pool
The Bilmar is a nice place to stay, close to shopping and resturants. The beach is beautiful, and the view to the ocean from our balcony room was nice. We were in an end unit in the Palms section of the hotel. The bathroom was a bit small and we overlooked the roof of Sloppy Joes. If you get a balcony room, I would recommend the other section of the hotel, which was right on the beach.

One block away is a Publix, and with our in room fridge it made for some less expensive meals.

Beachin at heart
Family Vacation
Beforei booked the vacation, i called the hotel to see if the room type i was looking for had an oceanront balcony. I was told that the room did have an ocean front balcony. I booked the room but when when we got there, our room did not even have a balcony. We tried to swap rooms but were told there were no rooms empty. This really put a damper on our stay. They should have been honest and told me there was no balcony when i spoke with them on the phone. I will not stay at ths hotel again nor will i recommend it to others. The room was not comfortable and had a moldy smell to it. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, it is definitely not worth th price.

My stay at Treasure Island
This was an old hotel. It has no lobby and the room was tiny, a deluxe studio oceanview. The balcony was a joke. The two pools onsite were small. The sunsets were fantastic though from the 7th floor. It was very clean and the staff was friendly and competent. Lesson learned. Stay in a newer hotel and pay more if you want to enjoy your stay.

The restaurants The Middle Grounds close by was good, Ricky T's has live music every night and makes good sliders, Monday & Tuesdays King Crab legs, full service pub & restaurant. Crabby Bills is best place to get seafood hands down. G.G's is a nice little Italian restaurant. The more upscale restaurants are in Clearwater 10 to 12 miles away but there's lots of beach in between to explore.

Loved our room, plenty of space. The staff was GREAT. I have been here several times with my husband and my girlfriends, always go to Sloppy Joes and Ricky T's!!!! The beach was beautiful. Plenty of shops within walking distance. Will come back !!!

Bilmar
I was disappointed in our stay at this resort and will not be back to visit it again. I called the hotel before booking and asked if the type of room i was booking had a balcony. I was told that it did have a balcony. We got there and it did not have a balcony. We were told that all rooms with balconies were booked up. They should have been honest with me to begin with that the room did not have a balcony. There was also a problem with bugs while there, we killed a large spider, a couple of small spiders and saw a very large cockroach that got away. They really need an exterminator. There is also quite a long walk to the beach. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

THE HOTEL WAS WONDERFUL, FOOD WAS GREAT. STAFF WAS GREAT. POOL WAS CLEAN AND WARM. UNFORTUENTLY, OUR BOOKING ON LINE FROM THE COMPANY ABOVE CANCELED OUT TRIP AND WE HAD TO GO THROUGH THE HOTEL TO RE BOOK OUR RESERVATIONS. THANK YOU SIERRA AND KIM FOR HELPING OUT SO MUCH AND OUR ROOMS WERE GREAT
