Sweet location on beach, nice hotel

Confusion at first when we checked in as we had reserved two queens but none available, however they more than made up for it by giving us a double suite on the beach level. Having bikes available for guest use was a nice amenity.

Perfect Winter Getaway

Stayed at the Bilmar In February to escape the frigid cold of the Northeast US. This was perfect place to getaway and relax. The hotel service was exceptional. The rooms were clean and comfortable. We had a pool side floor level room, which was quiet in the evenings. Any request for towels or assistance was met. The pool was clean and large enough for several guests. The hotel is on the wide expanse of a beach. There were chairs readily available for use. There are also two restaurants/bars on-site, both were reasonably priced and delicious with fast and friendly service. The location of the hotel is ideal.. there are several restaurants within less than 3 minutes of walking, an alcohol beverage, a national chain brand name health convenience store across the street, and tourist shops all around. St John Pass and St Pete beach are minutes down the road.

Great place for girls week

The hotel was very clean, the beds were comfy, the location was outstanding and the view was fantastic. We will defiantly stay here again! I have absolutely zero complaints about this place because it was perfect in every way.....well maybe I do have one complaint, our trip wasn't long enough (lol).

Decent Location

This hotel is right on the beach so that is great, however amenities at the hotel were not. I understand that this hotel is over fifty years old but they really need to upgrade & renovate. Very old-style rooms that are also very small. Also, very deceiving to call the basic rooms Queen studio suites, which they are not. I do not think that adding a mini-fridge to a room can constitute them calling a room a suite, very disappointing. To have a hotel right on the beach and not have rooms with balcony's takes away from the overall staying on the beach experience. Not many good restaurants within walking distance. Overall, decent location but hotel can use an overhaul.

Late winter/birthday getaway

My partner likes to make a significant celebration of her birthday, and she chose the Bilmar for a combo birthday event and winter getaway for some sun for us. What a great choice. Room had an excellent view of the beach & ocean with one of two pools directly below. If you like HOT showers, you won't be disappointed. There was some noise from the attached Sloppy Joe's restaurant, including the staff washing down the deck early each morning (once even beginning at 4AM!), but I'm a light sleeper and it was our choice to sleep with the balcony door open. It probably wouldn't be a bother with the door closed. There is a nice Publix almost directly across the street which made it easy to bring some groceries back to the room for cooking breakfast each morning in the kitchenette: save some money and enjoy breakfast in bed! ) We didn't have enough time to use the free kayaks, but did enjoy biking on the beachfront walkway. John's Pass is within decent walking distance, too. Would definitely stay here again - a favorite spot in Florida.

Great hotel on the beach

We got first floor room - which was great when traveling with kids - they could just open patio door and play in sand. The floor was ceramic title - which was OK when cleaning all the sand they brought in., carpet would be very hard to clean. (my guess this only applies to lower lower rooms). The room was equipped with a fridge, microwave, toaster, tv. and (very important for this room) broom and dust pan. The hotel is right on the beach, it is 300-400 yard walk, the sand is kind of sharp (lot of small ground shells). There is small pool (if there are more then 10 people it feels crowded) As far as I can tell all rooms have windows facing beach. There is a CVS right across street.

Good value for Money

I was actually on business but i enjoyed the chance to take a swim in the pool and walk on the mile long beach sidewalk. Ha d breakfast at Bazzies and Dinner at Sloppy Joes. Both were very good value for the money. Love the broad expanse of this beach and the sea grass. Only complaint was that the young adults next to me partied a little too hard, were extremely noisy all night long until 4AM. When I finally called to the desk someone else had also had it and security was on its way. It did quiet down after that,
