Wingate by Wyndham Tampa / USF

I came to Tampa for a couple of days at Busch Gardens. The location was great. The room was sufficiently updated. However, the room did have an odor and the bathroom had some stains on the floor. The staff was very congenial, however, there was no concierge. For the price I paid and the location (close to Busch Gardens, not much else close by) I would have appreciated a professional concierge versus a knowledgeable manager. Also, the restroom fan was loud and not always fully functional. Overall, the stay was good.

Experience was great! The good reviews of this hotel are right and it was a great place to stay as it took 5 minutes to get to Busch Gardens!

We had to be close to the VA Hospital for my son's surgery. We have NEVER had such a pleasant stay at any place we have been. Everything from the room, hot breakfast to the staff was top notch. The van service was a great help. If we have to be in Tampa again, we will certainly be at Wingate. Thanks for everything.

Upon our arrival, the desk clerk was very pleasant and helpful by telling us what the hotel has offers us during our stay. Before checking out, we left the hotel a thank you letter for the staff. We will be back!!!

Front desk was pleasant. prepaid paperwork was screwed up and we were assigned the wrong room. We had to go back to the front desk to get it resolved. The room was well kept - clean and fresh. Internet connectivity (on the 4th floor) was totally lame. The ethernet cable didn't work at all (got an IP address but no connection to the outside). WIFI was limited to 56k. TV - loud hum an some channels - CNN HLN was listed but showed static. Didn't eat the free breakfast since it seems like a total waste (cereal, toast, juice, etc.). We wanted something cooked. Overall the hotel is okay if you are looking for a crash pad while you are going to Bush Gardens. But they are slacking with their back office and technology (TV and internet).

We could not have picked a better hotel! Customer service was outstanding! The complimentary shuttle that took us back and forth to Busch Gardens was a fantastic perk. This hotel will be my only choice for any future Tampa trip! I don't have a single bad thing to say about this place. Ignore all other hotel choices and stay here!

THE WINGATE WAS A GREAT PLACE TO STAY WHILE ATTENDING USF GRADUATION FOR OUR DAUGHTER. THE STAFF DOES A GREAT JOB KEEPING EVERYTHING NICE AND CLEAN. THE BREAKFAST AREA HAS A GOOD VARIETY FOR EVERYONE TO CHOOSE FROM. IT IS CLOSE TO SO MANY PLACES OF INTEREST, A SHORT DRIVE TO THE BEACHES.THANKS TO YOU AND THE STAFF FOR DOING SUCH A GOOD JOB.

The hotel was close to Busch Gardens. Also close to I75 & I275 to visit other attractions.

My husband, our two children and I stayed here 2 nights along with two other families during our visit to Busch Gardens in December 2010. Overall, the hotel is nice, but I expected a little more from it considering it's great reviews. My family and I take quite a few vacations each year and have stayed in many hotels and this one did not stand out. The lobby is pretty and clean, however the rooms are your average hotel rooms and were not as clean as they should have been. The carpets were dirty and the bathroom floor was too. Again, small average bathroom. Nice breakfast and great staff.
