Outstanding service, first class!
Lu Nov 2, 2009
It was AMAZING and exceeded any expectations I had. The staff was friendly, helpful, accommodating...they even upgraded my ... room to a bay view that was beautiful. On site food was great and yet their were some excellent restaurants nearby, public transportation and even a Starbuck's across the street. The waterfront was beautiful, with wonderful reflections and so many nice walk ways to run or exercise. I was impressed with the cleanliness and hospitality of everyone I dealt with. This was truly a first class, professional yet warm and friendly place to stay.

Good value with the [...] package
Chainsawman Oct 15, 2009
I was attending the SAE Brake Colloquium. The hotel was very nice; the employees were very pleasant & helpful; the rooms ... were clean; and the convention facilities were quite good. My only complaint was that the cold tap water in the bath room was HOT and never did get very cold - I've never experienced this in any hotel/motel room before. Usually you can't get hot water out of the hot tap.

Staying in Tampa On The Water View
Donna the hot momma Oct 7, 2009
Myself and my fiancé found our stay to be at a magnificent location right on the water. The moment you walk into the lobby ... we knew we came to a classy spot. As an older couple with many vacation stays at hotels in the Tampa region, we felt we were on our way to enjoy our special time in Tampa. We have stayed at 4 hotels in Tampa prior to this one and would recomend it to anyone planning a stay in that region of Tampa. Beautiful views, close to Busch Gardens, great resturant foods, and a lively bar. Just look at some photos of the hotel online and, you will gladly like what you see and your experence to come!

satisfied Sep 29, 2009
Enjoyed walking along the river there, looking at the boats and small yachts. There was a dragon boat race just down the way ... that was nice. A trolley can take you to ybor city and other restaurants, so that was good. Rooms were good, but not great for the price. But the rest of the hotel was top class.

Tampa's newest fan! Sep 27, 2009
My girlfriend and I went to Tampa for a concert. Neither of us had ever been there before, so we were winging it. The ... Waterside hotel was great. The staff told us where to go for food, fun and shopping. Everywhere we ended up was wonderful. The hotel was really clean and nice and the location doesn't get any better. You can take a short cab ride to anywhere, but there is also the trolley for $5/day and it's right across the street from the hotel! Perfect!!!

Good for city getaway
penelope Aug 31, 2009
Great location for business and city activities. Our vacation was a mix of pleasure and business, so we would have stayed ... nearer to the beaches if possible. The hotel was clean and the staff was helpful, but the extra services cost. Paying extra for valet parking,or using a costlier parking lot was disapointing. We spent an extra $150.00 plus tips for the week. We ate at one of the restaurants, a sports type bar. The food and service was good. We utilized one of the pool tables here, however, and found the table to be in poor condition, in spite of paying by the hour for use. No complimentary breakfast. The restaurant and small coffee shop for breakfast was expensive. The coffee for the brewer in the room was good but was not replenished several times and had to be requested.

Great Family getaway
one of eight Aug 29, 2009
Fine rooms, exceptional staff, great restaurants. From this location, in 4 days we did Ybar City, Channelside, A Rays game ... at the Trop, Bush Gardens ... hotel staff presented us with 2nd day gift certificates ... the world famous Bern's Steakhouse, and the Casino. We had a 6:45 pm flight on the 5th day so the hotel gave us a 4:00 pm late checkout ... which translates into a day at the pool.

Just a Dad raising children Aug 28, 2009
Requestd change in rooms. First room was filthy: dusty, winows were didustingly dirty, bedspread had stains, floor wasn't ... vacuumed, sink had ma black mold. Several calls, had to convince several people to come see. Changed to a cleaner room. Overall the housekeeping is poor throughout the Hotel. Room wasn't cleaned as it should be, didn't vaccuum. Tables, utensils, glasses throughout Hotel were not clean. Particularly the Lobby. As if they don't take a cloth to anything. Many visible tiny bugs crawling in the room- bedbugs? Pool can use a vacuuming. Hot Tub was loaedd with sand, and wals and floor green with algae. We were all afraid to touch anything.

All-around, i was very impressed with this hotel. Customer service from check-in to check-out was very good. The quality of ... food, price and service at the restaurants was worth it. Room was spacious and clean. Consierge and bell service was also very good. The lobby was a little smelly at times, probably the hotel's proximity to water but the ambience was excellent.

Tampa Marriott Waterside Hotel & Marina

There was no book provided about hotel services. I had to call the concierge to find out where the fitness center and ... business center were located. I was told that the hotel was updating its information and the concierge asked me to ask her any question I had about the hotel. Otherwise it was clean, luxurious and quiet. I would call them first-class but they don't provide services beyond what the average good hotel does.

The hotel tried to double bill me, they said it was because I made the orbitz reservation the same day .They resolved the ... problem quickly once I pointed it out to them, the previous stay's double bill is still pending, I didn't notice until I got my statement. The room was so noisy because of a neighboring bar, and the noise didn't stop until 230am. On the up side the staff are excellent and very helpful and the food at the hotel is excellent.

The Good and the Bad
Rockin in Cleveland Jul 3, 2009
The location and facilities were great. The hotel is next to Channelside (lots of places to eat and movies) and Ybor (food, ... shopping and movies. The night life here is fun and off-beat. There is also a dinner theater and improv club in Ybor). It's about a fifteen minute drive to Busch Gardens. At the hotel, the staff did not know where to locate a Chinese restaurant and the housekeeping was slow and only mediocre. Because there was a huge conference at our hotel, at times, it took over half an hour to get our car, and the elevators (all six of them) were almost always filled.
Traveler type: Family
Ybor is old Tampa with food, movies and fun shops. The stores are new and vintage. There are a number of food options from burgers to Cuban to Mexican and eveything in between. Stabuck's and ice cream are there too. There are a lot of cigar shops. The Improv is there as well as other evening happenings.

Overall, very enjoyable. The price wasn't too bad when we booked our stay through Orbitz's package deal. $20/day for ... on-site parking was a surprise, but was easier than dealing with a local parking garage (since you can come and go as many times as you need for the $20). Grandson's Birthday
Lawyer-Engineer Jun 28, 2009
[...] was the best waiter and host that could have been hoped for. Charming, knowledgeable, attentive and got us exactly ... what our palates desired. Later, my wife had a fainting spell, and [...] was most solicitous and helpful. Do what you can to make him part of your permanent staff.Sadly, it was all wiped out the next morning as we left. We waited over twenty minutes for our car. Instead of moving the cars through, the staff was fawning over the flashy sports cars. The coup de grace was a showboating driver of an Italian sports car who showed up, abandoned his car in the midst of a traffic jam, and waltzed into the hotel. Naturally, he neglected to tell the staff how to start his car or engage the transmission. With my car in sight, as five of your staff futzed around with the car for seven minutes (by my watch), while chosing not to chase after the showboater, the chaos grew. Finally, they got the car started and drove off. Now, after waiting twenty minutes with my car in view for ten minutes, and letting everyone load and unload directly in front of the doors, the entrance was momentarily vacated. The driver of my car hit the gas and took it as far away from me as possible, despite my yelling and waving my arms. (I am visibly disabled; there was a disabled sticker in my car; and, I did wish to chase my car down the driveway!) I asked one of the valet drivers to have them back up my car to where I was standing (there was no other car in the way). Instead, he curtly demanded that I get out of way and "get down the driveway" to claim my car. What a perfect way to ruin a weekend! I stood my ground, and demanded that the car be returned. With a chirp of the tires in reverse to show irritation, it was returned. And, my wife and I loaded without assistance (as opposed to every other guest) and we drove away. Know that my tail lights are the last thing you will ever see of me at your hotel. P. Thomas Gard, [...]

1.There's an actual Irish thatched cottage bar a few blocks away named 4 Green Fields. If that's your thing, you'll love it. 2.Champions sports bar in the hotel has decent bar food and ESPN on the giant TVs. 3. There's a mall a few blocks away with a lot of resteraunts with outdoor seating. Looked like it was really busy at night.
