Tampa Marriott Waterside Hotel & Marina

This hotel is in a great location and has good amenities. The hotel staff is helpful and the catering and food people are wonderful if you are having a wedding or other function. However, housekeeping is not so good. Don't plan on having your room cleaned and made up until mid-afternoon. They don't take direction very well and are not reliable if you ask for a different time to clean the room. Very disappointing staff in this regard. I'd stay here again, but would be calling the front desk every morning to make sure things happened the way I wanted it to happen.

The staff were extremely courteous, and so professional! The room was well serviced, clean and contemporary. The location was so beautiful. All staff were seemed to be empowered to please the customer. The food was wonderful, and room service was timely, and maintained the same standards as the restaurants! It was actually delivered hot! Even the parking and transportation assistant staff went the extra mile. You really could not ask for a better experience.

I was there for a professional conference and was really impressed with the competence and friendliness of the staff both with respect to the hotel itself and with our conference preparations. I was a bit frustrated by the high price of food within the hotel, but there were many wonderful restaurant choices within easy walking distance. The location is lovely.

Like most airlines Marriott has reduced itself to charging for things that should be free: (a) demanding payment for internet; and (b) provides bottle water on tray with glasses and ice container but, without notice, puts a $2 charge on your bill if you drink. Petty, petty. Marriott should be aboce such pettiness.

Room was nice but not much around the area. I walked about four blocks to find something to eat. There was no shuttle service from the airport and no complimentary breakfast. But overall was a good stay.

We enjoyed that we could walk or take the trolley to other venues. The lighting in the Champion bar could be dimmed quite a bit - felt tooo bright. parking was pricry but they were kind and efficient about it. Pool was VERY clean and pleasent as well as the workout room.

You can't park your own car and empty your own items. They won't let you use the rolling carts without their supervision. There's limited parking to check in and they won't let you leave your car there. Parking for your vehicle is $20 a day! For a four day vacation that's another $80. The attendants were rude. The elevators are noisy in the rooms all night long. The amenities are only available at an extra cost. The room was small. The list goes on and on. This was a very disappointing hotel.

Hotel was packed whenwe arrived, but staff worked through it nicely..The street car system across the street is fantastice..easy ride to Ybor city. Lots of activites withing easy walking distance. We would definitely come back!

My wife and I were in Tampa to see some nearby Spring Training Baseball. The hotel amazed us from the time we entered. Everything about this property was top notch. Great pool, great bar at the pool, great food in the restaurant, great room, and the hotel even has it own UPS store too. We enjoyed staying here and hope to again.

This hotel is the closest (20-minute walk or 10-minute cab ride) to Tampa General Hospital. The hotel accomodations were excellent; my only complaint is that the wi-fi Internet access was not free. There are places to eat both in the hotel and nearby; a city trolley stop is in front of the hotel. Cab fare to or from the airport is a flat $25.00. I didn't have time to use all of the available amenities, such as the pool and fitness room. I will be staying there again in the near future.
