It was fantastic staying at the Sailport Suites in Tampa. You are close to most shopping malls. I will definitely stay there again. Price was right.

Really???
I was told on the phone when I booked that my room had 4 queen sized beds, which seemed weird. Then when we arrived there was one queen bed and a hide-a-bed which was fine. I went to go to sleep and offered to take the hide-a-bed. There were no sheets on the bed, so I had to call the front desk. The television got really awful reception, and the bed was ungodly uncomfortable. TSA decided that my hair gel may have been explosive and took it at the airport on my way in. I figured that is probably common, and the hotel should have some toiletries. Wrong again... I had to visit another hotel to pick up something as simple as that. Overall, I was extremely unimpressed.

Very Nice Place
Excellent. Only problem was communicating with lobby person. She didn't speak very clear english and I had a hard time understanding her. I went to the wrong room because her writing on the room key brochure was very unclear. Other than that my stay was excellent !

Could have been better
The view was beautiful but that's about where it ended. The bedroom after trying two days to find out what the smell was ended up being old, dried vomit down through the nightstand drawer and track and spots on the carpet where attempts were made to clean it. It was also on the bed skirt. NOT COOL. The mattress on the hide away couch/bed was beyond it's life expectancy. Needs replaced. The staff were informed and only the bed skirt was replaced. If it wasn't for the air freshener I purchased I never would have been able to stay there. We did look at another room with a sunset view but it wasn't much or any better. Thankfully we stayed one night at another hotel so we were able to appreciate one good nights sleep in a clean, comfortable place. Definitely won't stay there again.

Great location and spacious on a budget
I live in the cold midwest and was traveling overnight to Tampa in December, so I thought it would be nice to be near the water. I also wanted to be close to the airport. This was perfect. 2-3 mi from the airport but right on the water. What I got was essentially a 1 bedroom condo with a a full kitchen, separate bedroom, and a balcony overlooking the water. Great deal! The furniture and carpets were pretty well worn from a lot of kids and families, but hey, it's on the water. The staff was very friendly. The room had a 40"-ish flat panel TV, and a nice balcony. Several decent restaurants within walking distance, and even a free airport shuttle. I would gladly stay here again. Not the most luxurious place I've ever stayed, but I can't imagine finding anything with this much space, this close to the airport, and in the price range I paid. Very satisfied.

one bed
There is just one bed. The pullout couch = bed #2 and it is NOT comfortable. Kids wouldn't mind it, but don't expect an adult to like that bed.

So beautiful hotel
I stayed here for 4 days. Sailport Hotel is so beautiful. Since a balcony faces west, you can see the most beautiful sunset in your room with lovely Tampa sea. There are few hotels in Rocky point, I think that this Sailport is the only hotel, where people can watch the far horizon (in fact, not real horizon). Hotel has a nice artificial sand beach. There are a beautiful swing, bonfire (working at night around 2 hours, no windy day), and lovely beach decoration. Swimming pool is also clean and nice. And staffs are very kind. I strongly recommend you if you visit Tampa. If you want to go to downtown, there is only one bus line of #200. It comes only at 6:15am, 7:15am, and 9:00am. And perhaps twice evening. When you come back to hotel, the #200 bus starts only at 4:40pm, and 5:10pm. If you want to go to downtown, traffic is little bit inconvenient, but that is fine due to an express line. You can use also rent a car in the airport, and parking fee in Tampa downtown is cheap. Minor point is their free shuttle bus is available until 11 pm.

Enjoyed my stay at Sailport waterfront suites. My Suite was very clean and well kept. Separate enclosed bedroom, full kitchen, living room, bathroom and balcony with beautiful view of Tampa Bay made it a complete home away from home experience. Will definitely stay there again. Well recommended.
