good hotel
we liked this hotel, the only thing to say is that there are no sun umbrellas at the beach and not enough in the swimming pool. We looked for a double bed and when we arrived they gave us a one bedroom and and a sofa, so we made the upgrade and pay more for a double bed.

Good stay
After reading some of the reviews we were a little worried. But we found out the staff is ver friendly. The suites are rather big and most of the rooms have a nice view. We stayed there 9 days and although you have to drive for a while to find a perfect beach it is a good location. Very close to the airport and the main shopping malls.

Nice place to stay
The parking is a little tight and there's only 1 elevator so it's either up and down the stairs or a nice hike to your room. The room was very clean and relaxing, we were hoping for a better view but it was a waterfront suite. It was a nice change of pace and kept us from having to wake up 3 hrs earlier to make it to my husband's va appt.

NY Grill Pizza: fried mushrooms had no flavor other than grease, same with the jalepeno poppers. The Hawaiian pizza tasted like Vienna sausages, about the only good thing we received from them was a chef salad.

Nice Suite
Suite was well layed out and comfortable including full sized fridge and stove. Nice view of Tampa Bay and good pool.TV's old tube style with bad picture. Sailport suites are clean, with few amenities (no lounge or food) located near airport but shuttle not available for early morning flights. Overall good value

Depends on what your looking for
The outside photos are very representative of the hotel. The location is quiet and out of the way. Great place for many singles, couples, and families as long as you have the 2 bedroom. We did not realize there would only be 1 bed. The coach is not sit-able let alone sleep-able. The balcony was very comfortable, and the views beautiful. The parking garage under the units was very convenient. You can see many upgrades and care is going into reviving this property. The rooms still have a ways to go. Not sure if we'll stay there again.

Myself, my husband, and my two young children stayed here for 6 nights. It was nothings to amazing but it had everything that was needed. The staff was helpful and amazingly friendly. My only complaint was there was no swimming allowing on the bay. It was rocky and I assume it was for safety reasons, but they did have a pool to compensate that fact. Overall it was a great experience and perfect for those who are trying to enjoy themselves on a budget.

Staying there on business
The hotel is more of a resort that can be used as a central point for visiting tourist spots than a place that is suitable for the business traveler. It reflects its age and use but it is very clean. Bed and pillow were hard for my comfort but others may not think so. I would not recommend staying there for a business traveler but would consider recommending for a tourist, especially, if traveling with younger children or planning to vist several of the sites in the area.

Sailport Waterfront Suites
I would not recommend this hotel, it was outdated and not clean. Our room was very small and smelled of smoke and mildew. The room was located right next to the main office and it was very noisy late into the evening and very early the next day. Checked out after 1 night.
