Masters Inn - Tampa Fairgrounds

The pics look decent, most reviews were decent. Hotel: NOT so decent! The room was terrible, the fan in the bathroom didn't work (but maintenance was quick to fix it), the last day the air conditioner started leaking on the carpet in the middle of the night. The rooms are outdated & smell musty. THERE ISN'T WI-FI!.. Unless you want to sit at the pool or in the office. The area is not the greatest. I was forced to park around the back of the building & didn't feel all that comfortable walking from my car to my room. (I asked the staff if I could at least park in front of the office & was told no) The ONLY pro's in my opinion, you're right next to the freeways and there's an abundance of fastfood/gas station's in the immediate area. Pay the few extra dollars & at least go to a Holiday Inn....I wish I would have!

If all you want is a nice room and a great price, this is the place. Polite staff, easy parking, room has fridge and MW too. In a fairly remote location. The name of the street "Martin Luther King Drive" tells a lot about the location. Not much nearby, but very close to the highway, fast food. I got the impression from my neighbors that people live there for extended stay. In short, its a bargain and a great deal for the price. Not fancy, but good. I would return on my next trip.

perfect hotel for a weekend concert and casino trip

The general manager was great with helping me get an early check in, which was really nice. The location compared to the fairgrounds was excellent. However, the room was provided with 2 flat as a board pillows, and when I asked to have 2 more, the front desk agent told me their pillows were on back order, and they had no extras for me. The sheets were stained with something... I slept over the covers that night. I figured, for the location and price, I couldn't beat this deal, but ill definitely spend an extra $30 for a nicer hotel next time!

IT WAS THE WORST I HAVE EVER HAD AT A HOTEL ....FILTHY ...I HAD ASKED FOR NO SMOKING....AS I HATE IT... IT COULDN'T HAVE BEEN MORE SMOKY IF I INVITED 50 PEOPLE TO COME IN AND SMOKE ALL NIGHT...IT WAS JUST HORRID.....

Pretty good for the price. Walls were just a bit thin and heard a lot of the things going on outside and around my room. Was clean though, and didn't have any problems. Staff was nice.

Staff was friendly and helpful, room was adequate but small. Area is not the best-alot of weekly customers and alittle rough around the edges. We just stayed the one night but and were in early and out early but not comfortable with the parking area. People out late there.

NASTY ROOM. There were ashes in the bathroom floor. The room smelled BAD. the carpet was stained and gross. The walls are paper thin so all night you can hear your neighbor (extra gross). There was no clock. The room was nasty- yes, it was worth repeating! Will never stay there again.

I had to go and purchase Tilex to clean the bathroom (the toilet was awful). I told the guy as soon as I checked in. No one followed up. The floor was unswept. The bed looked like it had been slept in with the comforter just pulled over it. Good thing I brought my own towels & sheets.

Our reservation was misplaced and we were given a smoking room because they were all booked up. The room reeked of cigarette smoke and was very run down and not very clean.
