weekend get way
Will I like say was 100% good but sorry I can't do that. 1st on my list was when we got to are room my wife ask me if their was no Refrigerator. Come find out my friends that we where meeting up with stay at a sleep inn had one and a microwave for about same price as us. 2nd on my list was their was only 30 channels to choice from on the TV witch think count had been more scent my wife like to sleep the morning away I was board tell she got up so we could start are weekend off right. 3rd was the only ice maker Knows where it was is by the lobby on the 1st floor come on be nice if can but soda and candy on each floor a ice make should be that hard to do also.

Not great but not horrible
We were put in a room that was supposed to be non-smoking, but there was a strong smell of smoke in the room and an ashtray. The hallways were very hot, but the room temperature was fine. The breakfast was adequate, nothing special. The price was good and it is very close to the University of South Florida, which is why we were there. The staff were nice, but the overall impression of the facility was that it was older and needed some sprucing up.

There is a mall down the street and also plenty of places to eat nearby. We took the car. I guess syou could walk, but it would mean walking along a very busy street.

The good, the bad, and the really ugly"
Overall, was not very clean...had to ask for bed to be FRESHLY made when we arrived. Bathroom looks old, towels rough nd do NOT smell fresh. Had to ask for wash cloths twice.

YUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUKKKKKKKK!
Daughter had to attend USF Cheerleading tryouts, so I chose La Quinta due to the proximity of the college to the hotel. POSITIVES: Check in and check out and all contacts with the front desk were great, nice employees. NEGATIVES: Hotel was noisy and nothing was done despite complaing, the hotel accepts pets, I have nothing against dogs or cats but I am severly allergic to both so our room had previously houses an animal and my allergies went from so so to awful. The barking and the noise in our hall from pets in the rooms were constant. We moved our daughter to a high floor so she could sleep due to the noise that lasted until 1am NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!!! GO TO HOLIDAY INN OR WINGATE!!!!

Busch Gardens Passholder
Last Minute Foul Up
Although the front desk staff was very accommodating at check in, there was only one of her for the night. We had issues with the room we were assigned to . .. It was supposed to be non-smoking and it wasn't. The hotel was full so, no other room available. Front desk girl came and sprayed down the room. Helped somewhat, but she did not do it the next day when asked. Thought we were getting two queens for 3 adult persons and a child. Two doubles were tight. The room was just okay. Didn't get a chance to use the amenities other than breakfast and it was ok.

The hotel was very ...
The hotel was very comfortable and the room was more than adequate. Also, I was there for three nights and each day when I came back to the room the key did not work so I had to go to the lobby and get another key. The breakfast was good and the location was great.

There was a chinese buffet restaurant nearby. I would not recommend it. The food looked like it had been out there for hours and did not taste very good.

USF Dad
Hot & cold staff
We visited our son who attends USF. It was a great help to us for the front desk staff to assists us in getting to our rooms early. That was a great help to us. The front door lock was in disrepair and hard to open. The shower/bath tub faucet showed wear and was not operating properly. We were disturbed early in the morning of our check out by housekeeping. There was a couple knocks and she used her pass key to check if we were still occupying the room. We were. We found this to be inappropriate and unprofessional. The continental breakfast was only fair. The bed may be the best hotel bed in which I have every slept!

faded a bit
Right across the street from USF, so very convenient. Not the Ritz, but initial furnishings and room layout were above average for this price range. Also, front desk was unusually helpful. On the other hand- much of the furniture and common space was showing its age, and the room cleaning was sporadic (forgot one day, left some used lottery tickets from previous tenant, did not notice/replace burned out light in bathroom). Usually I prefer La Quinta, but next time here I will probably try the Wingate next door...
