Nice Hotel - LOUSY Staff!

It's hard to believe a "first class" hotel like this would such arrogant, disrespectful, and uncaring staff. Requests to get ... a ride in a pouring rain were refused ("we ONLY go to the airport.") Priority Club registration was refused ("we DO NOT give credit when you book on [...].")When I asked the front desk for a map, I was told "Go ask the Bellman."Honestly, the front desk was staffed by an awful, awful staff.

Great Place to Stay

The room was real nice, comfortable and clean. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Great value for the price. Went to a ... convention in downtown area which is about a $20 cab ride. A bonus is a mall with plenty of restaurants, stores and a theater across the street. They did have a very convenient and free shuttle for the airport to the hotel. Would definitely stay again.

There is a nice small mall directly across the street within walking distanct. However the Bigger and much nicer mall is about a five minite drive on the same street. I went to both.

I WAS VERY SURPRISED AT THE HIGH QUALITY OF THE HOTEL AND THE STAFF. EVERYTHING WAS EASY ACCESS AND VERY TIMELY. IN ADDITION ... TO GOING TO A PACKER FOOTBALL GAME I VISITED THE BEACHES ,BUSH GARDENS, THE PIER, AND YBOR CITY. EACH AND EVERY TIME I WAS VERY HAPPY TO RETURN TO SUCH WONDERFULL ACCOMODATIONS.

I will not be going back to the InterContinental Tampa. The rooms are a lot smaller than advertised. The staff was rude. ... The flat screen Television was a joke. It took several minutes to change channels, then only local channels and HBO. To get any entertainment guest have to rent movies at $12-$15 a pop. Room service was ridiculously high.

Hotel is is very nice, it sits between two Office buildings. Therefore the average view in rooms are of people in their ... office doing work. I thought that the glass in the rooms we black out. However, people at work can see you as well as you can see them. And if you need rest during the day, It's not that quite.

the hotel is located withun minutes of all hiqhways.we traveled to gulf side beaches. clearwater and st petes beach were less ... tha half hour away. locally we enjoyed the many stores and restaurants too numerous to name.the pool atop the hotel was a nice respite when returning from our many travels.the atttached parking made access easy and we had a pleasant stay.

Arrived after midnight and exhausted - check-in representative was professional, quietly friendly and fast. Room was ... wonderful - especially the bed and pillows. Room was right by the elevators but I heard no noise during the stay. Bathroom was clean, big. Location was perfect - right across the street from excellent shopping, two minutes from the airport.

I travel every other week for business and experience lots of different brands and levels of service but I have to say, the ... staff at this hotel exceeded any other visit I've ever had. Every single need was met not only with an amazing ATTITUDE (which as we all know is nearly non-existent in this day and age) but service that exceeded expectations.

While we were at Intercontinental we enjoyed the pool, shopping at the mall, ground transportation(buses) and would have ... enjoyed a restaurant inside the hotel that would have catered to luncheon and breakfast - but we were within walking distance to other eating places and found the overall rating to be above average and meeting our needs completely.

Stay here if you are flying in to Tampa. It is close to the airport, and still in a good area. I was very glad that I didn't stay in St. Petersburg, the hotels I saw there were a much lower calibur than the InterContinental.
