Best Bed and Super Shuttle Service
We only arrived at the HoJo at 1am, and our check-in went very smoothly. The lobby was large and clean. We had a king-sized bed and a nice city view from our window. The bed was the most comfortable ever, with down pillows and comforter. I only had one small problem. It looked like the bathroom had been recently given a face lift, which was great. But there was plaster spattered on some of the fixtures, and paint blotches and missed spots. If I hadn't turned on the light, I may not even have noticed. I only mentioned it because it did detract a little from the overall feel of the room. The next morning the staff was very helpful with their recommendations for things to do. The hotel does offer a breakfast buffet, which smelled lovely, but we had other plans. We took their free shuttle, although cheap public transportation was nearby. It seemed to be a very central location. Ybor City and the Port were both within ten minutes, and the HoJo is right next to the Performing Arts Center.Oh, and they also had computers in the lobby that were quite nice and free to use. And they happily stored our luggage after we checked out until we got a ride to the Port.

Very good visit.
We got there and the staff was very friendly. The rooms were very clean, and the mattress was very comfortable. Would recommend this hotel to anyone. Very pleasant stay!

great deal for the price
This hotel is in a great location being downtown Tampa. Although it is a bit of a walk to some areas of downtown, they offered a shuttle service to the convention center which was very convenient. Although, not as upscale as some of the other hotels downtown, this is a great spot if you are looking to save on the rate. Was a great bargain. The rooms were clean and the hotel staff very helpful.

A nice hotel
The hotel was nice, the bed comfy, and a great view. However, it would have been nice when we checked in that we were told there was an $8/day fee to park. We would have paid it anyway but it would have been nice to have been told. Instead the clerk at checkout just said we have a sign which is on the counter and could not be seen when you had over 10 peopel checking in at the same time - it was New Year's Eve and they were busy. Also, when we got back to the room we had to go back down to the lobby because the keys did not work and needed to be reset.

Great Deal for the Price
Went for a Seminar and hoped this HOJO would be OK, being it was far less expensive then the others nearby. We were Very pleased with the service, even though we were unimpressed with the free shuttle service provided, the Drivers that is, one took us and dropped us off at the wrong place, another was TEXTING WHILE DRIVING!! RRR! otherwise, we survived and overall pleased and understanding.

Very Good Value
There are more luxurious properties available in the area, but this hotel is definitely a very good value. The staff could not be more friendly and helpful. The location to downtown and several local attractions is great, and if you need to get somewhere a little outside of the immediate area, the shuttle system that they have in place is terrific. Next time I am in Tampa, i will stay at this property.

The traveling Kiwi
Good place to stay.
Booking this hotel through a fare combined offer was not a wise move.After flight delays we arrived late at night too tired to take much notice of our allocated room which was stale and musty smelling. The following morning on complaining to front desk the Howard Johnston staff with out any hesitation issued a new upgraded room for us for the rest of our stay. We have nothing but praise for the professionalism of these Howard Johnston staff. We would recommend this hotel for your stay. M M-C New Zealand
