This was the best hotel i've ever stayed in. The building was beautiful on the outside as well as the inside. The staff was ... very friendly and helpful. The hotel has to be nice if it has a doorman! LOL! I called the front desk to let them know our fridge wasn't working and they immediately sent another one up to us. We had a wonderful view of the water from our room too! It was peaceful and I would recommend the Grand Hyatt to anyone!! We were only there for the weekend and I didn't wanna leave! LOL!

Not much nightlife nearby so if youre planning on partying better off finding a different location. Cab to most closer party spots were around $15. Go to Bahama Breeze about a mile west of the hotel, the Pina Coloadas are AMAZING!, and dinner was good too! Fun place.

The hotel was great, all the help were very friendly and social. The rooms was excellent and the view is amazing. Orbitz got ... an excellent rate for the level of hotel! Armani's restaurant is very beautiful but fairly a high class pretentious setting. Still interesting to check out.

Everything at the hotel was acceptable except for the snake that showed itself by the small pool. Not the hotel for people ... who stay in their rooms. The location was great and easy to access. My room had a breathtaking view of the bay. The "beach" was a man-made sand trap.

Not real happy
Less than satisfied. Jun 21, 2009
We checked the hotel website before decicing to stay there. Things were not like they advertised. First there is an overview ... of the hotel grounds that show all beach front property. When we got there we found marsh instead of sand and no beach at all. Then we reserved a room with a king bed and got two double beds when we arived. Amenities list a stocked minibar Which we discovered they no longer provide. they also listed a complimentary paper every morning. After not receiving one for two days we were told it was only by special request. Another small thing, We went to use the room alarm clock and found it broken. Any of these things on their own seem small but when you add them up they fall far short of the hotels rating and the rate we paid to stay there.

It's a Hyatt
Bern's for 2 May 26, 2009
The Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay is typical for other Hyatt's at which we've stayed. The staff is friendly and helpful, check in ... and check out were smooth affairs, the hotel lobby resturant staff was attentive and knowledgeable. The on-site parking garage was roomy and kept us dry during afternoon showers. The hotels proximity to the airport ment a 5 min drive when the time came to leave. Our room on the Bay side had fantistic views of Tampa Bay toward Clearwater. The room was of good size but had no particular amenitites that would draw kudos. Having to pay for internet access is wildly frustratign as lesser hotels offer this for free. Through no fault of Hyatt, there is a great deal of construction of the highways that border the hotel. There were no construction activites during our stay but until the project is finished be prepared for confused navigation systems and out of date maps. Overall we had a pleasant stay but would probably stay at a different location that offered more complimentary services and waffles for a more reasonable fee.

Renovations pending per staff
Busy traveller May 9, 2009
Reserved hotel sight unseen and was pleasantly surprised that most listed hotel details were accurate. Staff mentioned that ... room renovations were pending which, when completed, would change my rating from 3-star to 4-star. Furniture was worn, linens were old. Would stay here again. Location was excellent. Causeway to Clearwater right there. 5 minutes from airport and International Plaza Mall. Super quiet. No airplane noises could be heard indoors.

International Plaza Mall is a short drive and offers many dining choices. Hotel dining was pricy. No continental breakfast. In-room coffee maker only makes one cup of coffee.

Dar May 4, 2009
This is a very high class facility, yet it caters to kid, even though I was not traveling with any at the time. They rolled ... a wide screen tv out by the pool and showed "Horton Hears a Who" for the kids when it was dark out. It was a business trip for me so I was not at the motel the whole time, but when I was, like for lunch, it was real good service and they make a mean hamburger, fixed just the way you like it. I'd like to stay there again when I have my kids and I can just relax and have a good time. The only thing that I think could have made the stay better is if the internet was included in the room and didn't cost $22.00/hour. Parking was free.

Tampa Hyatt Regency

My brothers and sister and I made this trip to visit our father for his 75th birthday and only stayed at the hotel one ... night. [...], the bartender at one of the pools (a substantial walk from the hotel, but I'm not complaining, it was beautiful!) made excellent drinks and gave us top notch service - even delivering drinks to us poolside.Once we left the pool and began the trek back to the hotel, it began to rain. So, we stopped at another building (sorry - no clue what it was!) and the valets there called a hotel shuttle to pick us up. Everyone was very friendly and accomodating. The only negative I have - and I'm sure it's not applicable ONLY to this hotel, but all of them - is the pricing for room service! Two burgers and two bottles of water cost us $57.00!I'd stay there again, but pass on the room service!

Robert May 4, 2009
Room coffee makers not very good. Would it be so horrible to be able to get free coffee from the buffett area for guests? ... Many high class hotels offer that service along with buffets at a more reasonable price. I witnessed a family of four walk away because it was going to cost them $80 for breakfast with tip. Could not blame them. In todays economy especially, vacationers appreciate a decent meal at a decent price, without having to travel to get it.

We were supposed to get breakfasts each day. 25 dollars was given instead, which did not cover breakfast at all. Food was ... not good. Disappointed to pay for bay view when the hotel was not full. Pool was small & inadequate & teeming with people.
