Great Price, Great Location

If you are going to Tampa for a football game, this is the place to stay. Free 24-hr shuttle to and from airport, free rides ... within 2mi radius of hotel(including to-and-from the game). Plenty of shopping and dining nearby, and next door is a restaurant consistently ranked "Top 10 Steakhouse" in the U.S. Our only complaint was that we arrived back at our room at 5pm and it had not been cleaned, we actually needed to ask the staff to come in and make the room up! Also, the sun is blocked out by part of the hotel for most of the day, leaving the pool area in the shade(beaches are not far away). May want to reconsider location if you are looking to lay out in the sun most of the trip. If you are going for a short weekend like myself to see a football game, for the price and location this hotel a great deal.

Check in was very smooth.....convenient to Raymond James Stadium. Room was fine for what I needed which was just a place to ... clean-up prior to the U2 concert, and a place to crash afterward. No problems.

Bad Choice

Had to wait for over an hour for the "Free" shuttle and I was on the phone with the hotel calling for the shuttle when I saw ... him drive away so he could have quickly turned around. Stuck me in a room next to a busy highway. Will not stay here again and most likely will not utilize Orbitz due to a inflexible cancellation policy. Things come up and trips can be cancelled or delayed so I do not see the value of using your services. I travel at least twice a month and will be back in Tampa next month, but will not stay at the Doubletree since there are many quality choices in the immediate area.

Off Without a Hitch

Great Staff - We had a problem with the room key, and it was promptly fixed. Then we had a problem with the remote and it was ... promptly remedied. Staff was very pleasant and accomodating. Comfort- Beds/bedding was outstanding. We may order off of a bedding catalog they have online! Location - Perfect for what we needed...near downtown, near the airport, etc. Only issue was the door had gaps all around it, which allowed noise from the hallway to easily be heard as people walked/talked by the room.

Good value for the money. Nice lounge, restaurant, outdoor pool, workout room. Walls were a little thin and there was a lot ... of activity. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Located close to Tampa Int Airport and to I-275 which goes everywhere.

My experience was cozy. There was renovation going on, but my room was okay. I didn't like the fact that I couldn't totally ... control the air condition and it had a moldy smell when I entered. As I settled in, the smell improved. All in all, I had a good stay. Once the renovation is over, I believe the hotel will be in great shape.

I really enjoyed my stay. It was in a great location, easy access to everywhere I wanted to go. The staff was very friendly ... and helpful. My bed was extremely comfortable. The room itself was nice and inviting. I loved the music in your sports bar! I was here for pleasure. I went to the Gasparilla Classic, Tampa Bay Downs, had dinner in St. Pete and on Clearwater Beach. Quick trip!

The hotel is old and need of updating.Although I had a smoking room,the carpeting,desk chair and vanity had large burn ... holes.There were no ashtrays in room which may explain the burn holes.Housekeeping was very prompt in retrieving one for me.The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Check-in was fast and friendly.The warm cookie was delicious and welcomming. There is a steakhouse nextdoor $$.

The Doubletree Hotel Tampa Westshore was very comfortable, the room seemed much larger than most with a desk area and a table ... and two chairs. I liked the fact that the bathroom was separate from the vanity area and there was a sink with a long counter and there was adequate space for hanging clothes and they provided two suitcase stands. The location was very good -- it was really only one long block to Downtown Disney and there were restaurants very close.

Charley's Steak House is next door and has the best dinner in town. Make sure you try the 24 oz. Lobster Tail!

The staff were helpful and cheerful. The room was clean and comfortable. Even though the hotel was remodeling, it didn't ... interfer with their excellent service. The location was central and close to the airport and two shopping centers.

I had a problem with wake up call. I ordered my wake up call for 5am, my plane departure time was 7:10. Received wake up ... call at 4am!!! Apparently reason was that this night time was changed from Daylight saving time to normal and watches should be adjusted one hour backwards, what hotel staff missed to do. So they wake me up hour earlier and when I told them that time is incorrect whey didn't bother to give me wake up call at correct time. Good thing I did waked up at right time anyway, next time big chance to miss a plane.

This hotel was very clean and accomodating. The service to and from the airport is prompt. They will also take you to and ... from the pier if you are going on a cruise. When we returned from the cruise we had seven hours before our flight and they held our luggage and we were able to use the pool and relax before they brought us to the airport. Amazing! They are only about 1/2 mile from a mall also. Excellent hotel for the price. I travel all year round and usually stay at upper class hotels, but I would stay for business at this Double Tree anytime!
