Baymont Inn and Suites Tampa near Busch Gardens/USF

First let me say that when I booked this trip I used Baymont because of the fact that I have stayed in them before in other parts of the country. Now one must know that Baymont is a value hotel so if you come in here thinking that you are getting the Omni for 59 dollars a night you are not thinking about it correctly. My suite is exactly what I need. Having the two room suites is great so the kids can have their space and the adults can have theirs. Also the room was spotless just it has been at every other Baymont I've ever used. They have a shuttle that will take you just about anywhere within reason at no cost to you and the staff is fantastic. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

The hotel is almost on Busch Gardens property, very convienent and a free shuttle bus that saves you a $15 parking fee.

Negatives: Room was outdated, large yellow stain on carpet, floor was really dirty, toilet needed multiple flushes, small sink, air conditioner stopped working one night...then started working in the middle of the night (we went to bed sweating...woke up freezing). Wasn't too impressed with the area around the hotel...it wasn't completely bad, but not really great. There were shady people behind the hotel every other night...didn't make us feel too safe. However, the area around the hotel seemed peaceful...but the hotel is on the edge of some shadier areas. Positives: The biggest positive was the provided breakfast (saved us lots of money). The breakfast wasn't great, but it was at least something. French toast, bagels, cereal, milk, orange juice, machine to make waffles, freshly made biscuits and gravy, yogurt, small pastries. Breakfast hours were limiting though. The hotel required card access to enter facility, and the room...made us feel safer. The front desk was friendly, however the rest of the staff was indifferent. Hotel was very close to Busch Gardens. Was impressed that room had small fridge, microwave, two separate rooms with a flat screen tv in each room, two sinks in each room, a coach in one room. Mirror in bedroom was very large. The bathroom shower was actually very nice, and appeared newer than rest of room. Overall: If you want something cheap very close to Busch Gardens, that also provides a breakfast, then this is a good place. Downside (not mentioned above): there is not much to do around the area after Busch Gardens closes. My wife and I were disappointed that most things around the Busch Garden areas close early, like 8 or 9...after that, other than going to see a movie, the area lacks any other types of entertainment. Next time, I will choose something closer to University Southern Florida, the area seemed safer and nicer.

Staff very friendly. Elevator had a funky smell. Room was clean and everything worked well. No bugs (a very big plus for me). Easy access to every place I needed to go. Very quiet and I felt safe. Breakfast was adequate. All in all, very good. Would come again.

The hotel was kind of out of the way from where we wanted to go.

This hotel was beautiful. It was close to many theme parks, food places, and the beach. My family really enjoied the scenery inside the hotel. We loved the pool and the bar. Our room was clean and had everything that was advertised. We found it annoying to have to get towels for the pool in the main loby. There was only one person working the front desk the entire time we were there. That person had to answer the phones, check in new customers, and last give us towels. Our biggest complaint would be that the attitude of the front desk staff was terrible. I called the front desk on 3 occasions and they hung up on me all three times! I went to the office and confronted one of the staff member and he was beyond rude about it. He told me he could not help me. Our tv in our room went out. And he could not help me! So to say, the hotel is very nice. The cleaning staff were super friendly. If you can avoid the front desk peope its a wonderful place to stay.

Very good, its a big room. A lot of space. Nice TV.

Judging by the reviews that I read before booking my stay at this hotel, I thought that it was a good price for a comfortable "clean" hotel, however the room was extreamly dirty, the walls were yellow in a non-smoking room, the hand towels had "private hair" on them, the bed sheets had black dirt marks on them, my girlfriend and I woke up with bug bites from what I'm guessing were bed bugs which we did NOT have before we went to sleep. Needless to say the next day we checked out early due to the fact that we then saw 2 roaches crawling around. I paid for 2 nights and only stayed 1 night & I will NEVER go back to this hotel!

The first day I come, the hotel give me a good impresion from outside, but in a while that we are making checking, there was a fight in the bar between drunkers and the manager call the cops. We take the room with my family, and then going to the lobby with my little daugther to take some blankets, when come back we found in the elevator a couple doing suspicious things, maybe don't have money to a room...oooopppss! In the following morning, I wait in the car in front of the entrance for my family and the driver shuttle, an employee from the hotel, begin to shout to me from the other part of the parking, so I guess he wants I move my car to put his van. when I do it , he put his van to 40 mph in 10 meters doing a very dangerous move and avoiding my child by inches. This touch my limit and I ask in a very bad way if he are employee from the hotel, that we are guests and we deserve respect and good treatement, like any person. Really was a nightmare, I will never come back to this place, and I will never recoment this hotel to anybody.

I live in Costa Rica and had an appointment at the V.A. hospital in Tampa. I was looking for a very inexpensive hotel close to the hospital. The Baymont was less than 2 miles so I booked it. Upon my late night arrival, 10:20 PM, I found the front desk to be very helpful. The room was clean and everything worked. They even supplied shuttle service to and from the Hospital. I have to return to the Hospital in February and will stay at the Baymont again on every trip to the V.A,
