La Quinta Inn & Suites Sunrise

I slept like a bear in my hotel room because the bed was so comfy and then in the morning I had free breakfast which was so delicious. I enjoyed my stay very much.

Very convenient location near shopping and highways. About 20 minutes to Ft. Lauderdale down Sunrise. Very pleasant staff.

The room was STINK. It smelled like dirty dog and pinesol. I don't usually complain but I went to the front desk to ask for another room. The night clerk wasn't surprised (nor was the day check out clerk when we left). The night guy said there was no other room and gave me a can of air freshner!!! The carpet and curtains were dirty, the fridge had rusty scratch marks (dogs scratching at it?) and the top of the microwave was rusted. You felt dirty just being in the room. Co I booked thru said they couldn't help unless the hotel offered a refund and we'd already prepaid the bill.

Travelling with my son for this trip, we were pleasantly surprised by the exterior and then lobby of the hotel. When I first entered the room, though, there was a distinct smell of marijuana and the bathroom fan was still running (perhaps to hide the aroma). We stayed for two nights, during which there was no maid service. Apparently, two of the cleaning crew members had left the company on our first day. After speaking with the front desk about our experience, they offered a bottled water. Definitely needs some help.

Rate of hotel was more than room was worth. Our room had dustballs under the dresser. The smoke alarm was missing, and the wires were exposed, waiting for a new one to be put in. The heat/air conditioning unit was in pieces, and no note that you had to actually control the temperature by the thermostat. No laundry bag in room. The "breakfast" in morning was joke. A hundred people or so crowded into a little area, ONE waffle make, 2 toasters, with one side on each broken, the juice machine (apple and orange) was out of orange juice, so I asked the woman who was restocking the breakfast if there was any orange juice, and got a harsh "NO" out of her. No oatmeal packages left, no hot chocolate packages left, and waited 20 minutes just to get to a toaster, while my husband waited 10 minutes just to get to the one waffle maker. Had to wait for a table to sit down to eat. Will never stay at this hotel again.

If you plan to visit Sawgrass Mills Mall this is the perfect location. Nice clean rooms with breakfast included. Would return to this hotel.

Room was very clean and the staff was very professional as they did their day to day chours breakfast was good no complaints :) the sawgrass mall was close by in which I enjoyed even end up buying some things....I would definitely stay again at La Quinta and recommend it to any friends traveling to the Ft Lauderdale area....

There are 2 LQI&S across the street from each other. The one next to IKEA which we stayed at is the Sunrise, the one across the street is the Sawgrass. Front desk folks were very friendly and helpful. It was surprising how big the room was when we walked in. It was only 2 of us, but we could have had 3 on the bed and another on the couch comfortably. The room was clean and extremely cold to start - had to increase thermostat from 66 to 74! The AC unit was about the noise level of any in-wall unit and you have to expect that at most hotels (very few have an actual central air unit). If you're all that sensitive wear ear plugs at night. The walls were fairly thin as we could hear the kids across the hall. The king bed was very comfortable and so was the couch and ottoman. I forgot my razor and the front desk only has basic toiletries, but there is a Walgreens on the other side of 84 about 3 blocks away. The continental breakfast was just perfect for a morning start - good selection of cereal, bread/bagels, waffle maker, fruits, etc. When breakfast is included in the already low price, it saves you even more $$ (2 breakfasts at say Dennys would have been $15-$20 after tax/tip!) Overall a pleasant stay and a great deal at $56+tax. I live about 150 miles away and have a lot of my family is down in the area so I will be staying again in the future.
