the room was clean but attention to details would make it better, we asked for no smoking room and the noisy people beside us ... were smoking drugs so we had to change rooms at our own effort and no apologies. The door to the balcony was to heavy to open the tv did not work light bulbs that did not go on and closet door broken. there is nothing close for fun and taxies are very expensive,

Our goal was to run away from reality. I was expecting something nice but The Trump Internation Hotel and Spa was nothing ... short of fantastic. The hotel was beautiful, the staff was extremely friendly and professional, we had a beautiful view and love both the pool and the beach amenities. No reason to look any further. Our goal is to make this trip every year around the same time.

A Great Experience!
Totally in love couple from Boston! Nov 7, 2009
Started off our vacation with a complimentary upgrade to a suite, courtesy of the friendly reception. The room was more than ... we expected, as not only did we get a suite, but we also got a room with a semi-ocean/semi-bay view, which was great! The cleaning staff deserve a parade! We never saw them but every single time we returned to our room, it was spotless; bed made, new towels, and a complimentary chocolate at night. (They checked our room twice a day.) For a couple, the location of the hotel was a compromise. Although we loved waking and taking a dip in the pool, spending the afternoon in the private beach, and riding a $150/hr jet-ski; at night to get some nightlife we had to travel about 30-45 minutes on the public bus. In a taxi it was about 20 min, but be ready to spend $30-40 per ride. The lounge bar looked nice however everytime we passed there was no one there... so we stayed away! Looked like it was more for a business type drink. Overall, we had a great experience! The attention of the staff from the reception desk to the service on the beach was excellent. (Just be sure to grab your wallet and have plenty of change as you will be tipping everyone! And we mean EVERYONE!)

Some helpful tips to keep in mind would be: one, there is a supermarket a block away from the hotel. Two, there is also a number of restaurants close by, mainly across the street. We REALLY recommend Primarepa (a Colombian restaurant). Three, there is also a CVS near by so don't worry if you forgot something, like sunblock which you will need.

Not as Fabulous As What We Read
Wife on a Budget Nov 4, 2009
The hotel was very nice... but not as nice as the pictures or the hotel next door. We were charged for everything and there ... wasn't any events planned for the weekend we stayed. However, the hotel next door had a great restaurant and they also had a Hawaiian theme party one night. Another peeve was the fact that we had to keep our ID cards out the entire time we were outside. Every 5 feet we walked someone would ask to see our ID card... It just got to be really annoying between getting new towels, drinks, chairs, etc. Finally, we had the deluxe view room with a small kitchen and two beds. The view was great but the quality of the room was not. We would not spend all the money we did and come back.

We stayed 4 nights the last week of October and had a wonderful experience at this resort. The service is excellent, the ... facility, pools and beach are clean and beautiful. There are several restaurants within walking distance so you have plenty of options if you do not rent a car or don't want to take cabs. The staff was very professional and personable--we plan to return!

Great Hotel
A and JH Oct 19, 2009
We went to MIami for a weekend getaway and were not let down by our stay at the Trump resort. The rooms were large, bed was ... comfortable and the linens were very clean. We enjoyed massages at the spa and dined at the hotel restaurant- both we would recommend. Gratuity was included on all bills, which was helpful. We received an automatic upgrade to an ocean view room without requesting it, which did not disappoint. Room service was spot on with any kind a condiment you could need for your meal, delivered on a linen tablecloth "table". The pool and beach access were outstanding, and we were able to use the pool and hot tubs 24 hours. The only minor minuses were that there was sometimes a long wait for valet to retrieve the car, we only received turndown service on one night of our three night stay (the first night they came while we were getting ready for dinner and told them we would be gone in 15-20 minutes- they never returned. The second time was our last night in which they just never showed. We had some leftover containers in the trash which didn't end up being removed so our room smelled like leftovers when we returned. Not a big deal, but expected nightly turn-down) The final negative was the fact that they had no silverware or plates in the room, even though there was a fridge and microwave, which would have been nice when we wanted to reheat some leftovers (and there was plenty of cabinet rooms for such items). The negatives were minor and did not affect our impression of the hotel or how much we enjoyed our weekend. We would definitely return to the Trump International Beach Resort in the future.

Not so Hot for the Money
Short Distance Traveler Sep 28, 2009
Overall the Hotel was great, however they tried way to hard to please you, and each time that cost me tip money. You cant ... even set up your own towel on the beach without having to pay someone money to do it, even when you did not ask them to do it for you. I am glad I purchased this on [...] as a package as if I was paying the actual room rate I would have been very very upset at the prices. The room that was pictures as a junior suite was not the room I received. While I was put in a Jr Suite the bedroom area was not seperated by a louver area, it was actual part of the room not like the one pictured on the web site, or as a matter of fact as described on the web site of the hotel. Overall the trip was pleasant

Very Nice Loacation
Jeff Sep 25, 2009
This place is very nice i would never go back to this place again. You would think all the money that i spent on this hotel ... you would get free internet. Nope they charge every 24 hours for the internet. $12.99 a day that is crazy. Where i live we have a McDonalds that has free wifi. Donald is a cheap skate when it comes to that. Also they stock the fridge with a mini bar that is very expensive, and if you wanna take the stuff out of the fridge they will chare you $25. That is rediculous. Like Donald doesn't have enough money already. Everything there is high dollar so if you aren't rich i would recomend going somewhere else. The food is very expensive we spent $88 bucks on lunch which was chicken sandwich with fries and chicken strips with fries and 4 drinks. Do yourself a favor and go to the grocery store and liquor store across the street. You will save a lot of money.

The beach and the pool are the best. We had an ocean front room and that was just the ideal room for us. Best bonus that we ... were not aware of till we got there was the free shuttle bus- It takes you to different malls and to Miami.. One of the best hotels we have ever stayed in Florida! Hotel restaurants are pricy, so go around for a walk. Tons of restaurants are around within 0.5 mile.

Allie RN Sep 1, 2009
The hotel itself was beautiful. The room we got was not what we expected; we expected an ocean view with a whirlpool tub; we ... got a two-queen bed w/o tub room...after going down to the desk we were able to upgrade for an additional cost, but amazing room including jaccuzzi on balcony for 10 people! Room was not as clean as we would've liked; old newspaper on the balcony and drawers were dirty. Staff incredibly nice and polite.
