Great location/Poor Hotel

Where do I even begin... The hotel hasn't been renovated since the 80's; the carpets are filthy, there's paint chipping off the walls in the rooms, dusty air vents, elevator signage falling down, and dogs barking in the hallways, amongst other issues. While the location is great, it lacks the look and feel of a sophisticated hotel and is not a good place to stay at.

January beachgoer

The hotel was built many years ago, and has not been updated. My room showed it's age and the appliances were hopelessly outdated. There was no heat in the room. The workout area was small and minimally equipped. Although breakfast was free, it was pretty minimal. No fresh fruit except bananas. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Not what I was expecting

I was in Sunny Isle (Florida's Riviera!) on business and needed an affordable place to stay. Billed as a beach resort with free breakfast it sounded perfect. My room was located at the end of dark hall and did not have carpet, but ceramic tile. The interior was really sparse and dated. There was a cable from the TV that was strung along the wall and over the mirror of the "mini bar" that was obviously not professionally done. I know they cleaned the bathroom, but there was mold and some rust or mildew in many spots on the walls. The staff was friendly and attentive but they did not have much to work with in this facility. The free continental breakfast buffet consisted of pancakes and oatmeal, other dry cereals and bread for toasting, bagels, packaged pastries and bananas and apples. There was a very expensive add on menu also available. Valet parking was available and nicely staffed but at pretty stiff cost. I was also billed daily for a "resort fee" which as far as I can tell provided me with nothing. Not that I planned on using it, but the swimming pool was closed for repairs although I witnessed no work being done and was half full of water green with algae. It did provide me with a bed with clean sheets and a breakfast I did not have to prepare, but I have come to expect better of Ramada than this.

Room View

I requested a room with a partial ocean view. When I checked in, the room had a partial ocean view, if you wanted to stand by the window and look at the ocean. I was expecting a room with a full balcony. Room description is very vague. Next stay there, which I will, I will request a room with a city view. At least it has a balcony and it is much cheaper. Overall the hotel was worth the money.

Great value

This was my second time staying at this hotel. I come for work, and find that this hotel is a great value. The rooms are clean, they are in the process of renovation, so I am hoping things will continue to improve even more. The pool is nice, there is a workout room, and it is right off the beach. There is a $13.00 resort fee that is charged daily, but it seems reasonable. Right outside in front, there free shuttles that run, as well as a bus stop, that can take you to South Beach, or the Aventura mall for $2.00. If you are hungry late night, or you arrive past 10pm. There is only 1 place in the area that delivers. The restaurants in the hotel stop serving at 10pm. Overall I would continue to stay here.

Great getaway

I had a great time, it would have been a great little mini vacation. The only bad part is based on my part, we went on a holiday weekend, so it was packed in the hotel, and valet was packed with cars so it took 25 mins just to get my car out. But overall it was great, woke up to a ocean view, morning breakfeast and walk on the beach was just want I needed.

Good value/Family Friendly

We arrived early on Sunday and it was a very busy day being that it was Father's Day. The front desk said we could store our luggage and enjoy our day. Then he called housekeeping to give us an approximate time we could get into the room and one was available. We were able to check in early (10:30 am) That was much appreciated! Our room was on the second floor. Apparently some of the rooms have been converted to condos and are owned and/or rented out. Our room was on the end of the hall, with a partial ocean view and a view of the building next door. Their trash was a bit of an eye sore. The room was clean and nice and recently updated, with new flooring, furniture, kitchen cabinets and counter tops. It had a refrig and microwave and dishes and pots and pans. I did have an issue with the door not locking but they promptly answered my call to come and fix it. The bed was a little soft for my liking-but you might like it. It had a large mounted to the wall new TV and internet access. There is a $13 per day/per room resort fee that covers internet, towels and some other things. The pool was large and clean and by the pool there was a Tiki Bar, and a restaurant. In the lobby there are various shops as well as in the basement there are small businesses. One in particular was Pizza Biancos-it was very good and you could buy the pizza by the slice or pie. As far as location, it did not seem like there was many other places close by to walk to for dining but I also did not have a car-so there may be more near by. The mall is a short drive away. The hotel is on the beach and the beach is very clean for as busy as it was! There is a public access really close and it seems to be a popular place. The hotel offers plenty of security and door checks so it is nearly impossible to just walk in if you don't have a room! This hotel was family friendly and there were alot of families visiting from all over the world while we were there. There is a free breakfast and it consisted of Fresh fruit, bagels, assorted breads and muffins, cereals, oatmeal and the usual drinks. I only stayed one night, but the service was good when I was there, The staff was helpful and polite and it was budget friendly. I would consider staying there again, should I be in Miami again.
