No seats at the pool! And very poor shopping!
People were getting up between 1am and 6am to save their seats at the. Pools therefore there was never anywhere to sit. People were getting mad at each other, understandingly. Some chairs would never have people sitting in them but would be filled with things.. The cabanas were always full whenever you tried to make a reservation. People would be smoking 2feet from where you were eating and that was ok to do! They would have to make changes fur a lot of us to ever come back! Plus, awful shopping!!!

Family Beach Almost-paradise
This is a great place for families! The room was spacious and the resort had tons of activities. We only used the pools, beach, trampoline and giant slide. But with more time we may have used the kids clubhouse, hot tub, mini-golf, in-water playground, etc. There were plenty of restaurants (we didn't eat at any though), so you really don't need to leave the resort at all. It was great having a fridge, coffee maker and microwave: breakfast was enjoyed most mornings in the room (we even had a light dinner in the room one night). One very minor problem with this level (4 star) of resort is the quality of toiletries. Something that went above 4 star quality: a make up mirror.

Busy, busy, busy
We have visited this resort for several years. This year (2013), unfortunately, was Easter week - very, very busy. Cabanas were hard to get, people everywhere, kids frequenting the adult pool. Not quite out of control, but, approaching it! Resort fee of $35 per day was to include cabanas, slide, etc. As adults we would have only utilized the cabana portion of that fee - not a good value. Weather was lousy, but had a great time regardless. Will look at other nearby resorts in the future, in order to compare value.

Very well maintained rooms; on-site amenities overpriced
Hotel tried to sell us an "upgraded" room for $50/per night more for more "natural light". With outside corridors, we could not open drapes anyway without losing privacy. We liked the facility which was well-maintained, comfortable and pleasant. We would use it again, but avoid restaurants which are very over-priced.

Clean but Noisy
Everything was clean and modernized, although the rooms were small. The only issue that we had, was our room was located near a mechanical room of some sort, and all night there was a grinding noise every ten minutes, which made it hard to sleep. Other than that- a fantastic resort!

Ok but wouldn't recommend for the price
Ok but expensive for what you get. The beds were soft and worn (mattresses sloped), the shower pressure was only a trickle, one side would be cold while you wash the other off. There was no bathroom fan which is not always pleasant! The staff was very friendly and lots of things there but like any resort, wayyy overpriced. It is more of a family atmosphere for those with kids but be prepared to spend some money if you purchase things there.

Great weekend getaway
The food at every restaurant on the grounds was awesome, as well as the surrounding area if you wanted to leave the resort. The staff was very accomdating and very friendly!! The only thing that I would have liked was a room with a view and a balcony. Other than that, it was great experience. I definately recommend this location to not just families, all are welcome.

Family Weekend with Toddler
We enjoyed our three day weekend at Tradewinds. We traveled with our three year old toddler. The resort is older and initially appeared dated. There apparently have been efforts to update over the past couple of years which is evident in the nice lobby and updated rooms. Our room was small but clean. We appreciated the fridge and microwave in our room. We were provided a daily schedule/agenda with resort activities. It was clear that the resort intends to be family friendly. There are multiple heated pools including an adult only pool and a busy family pool. There is a large inflatable waterslide on the beach that looks fun, but it blocked views of the ocean during the day. The best aspect of this resort was the location and beautiful beach. The beach cabanas were nice and the staff was well organized in helping seat us and provide menus for drinks/food. The resort staff were very friendly and accomodating. Overall, we had a great time. The resort is older but the location, friendly staff, and extremely family oriented atmosphere made our trip very enjoyable.

Not worth the price
The customer service was good but the room was small and it said we had a partial view but our room just overlooked the courtyard. The hotel also charges a $35 per night resort fee which ends up beig about $40 per night cause they ad tax to that also. I wouldn't have mind staying at a cheaper hotel for Half the price cause this hotel wasn't worth $250-280 a night.
