A lot for your money

Because of the price, it was a great value. It is a large venue, well located with two pools (one adult only) and a nice beach. The room was more than adequate with the advantage of a refrigerator, dishes, etc. It would be nice to have the price (standard room) with the option of a Queen sized bed instead of two double beds.

Dining tip: Short drive from hotel

Actually, it's a 45 minute drive to Bern's Steak House in South Tampa, a world class steak house with tours of the kitchen and the largest wine cellar in the country. There are separate "desert rooms" upstairs. Not inexpensive but not overpriced, either. Worth the drive.

Thanksgiving Getaway

Upon our arrival, staff was very friendly and accommodating. Was worried because I read some reviews that said staff was not friendly but every staff person we dealt with was very nice. Room was gorgeous (Breckenridge?); wish we had a room with a balcony though and the windows only opened slightly. Our room overlooked the ocean, which was beautiful but at night there was a lot of noise from teenagers because they had activities on patio below. Boarding school students were there while we were there and I believe teenagers outnumbered adults. Great place to go for families with kids but maybe not the best place to go for couples. Bring lots of money or credit cards...a bit more expensive than I would like.

tradewinds stay

This is the 5th stay at Tradewind's Resort. Love this place!! Wish the amenities were a cheaper in price,t though. Last year we were given a 10% discount card to use throughout our stay, this time they didn't offer this discount. It would have been nice if they had, esp for people like us who come back regularly. Very clean, however the cleaning supplies were playing havoc on my asthma. I could smell the cleaning supplies and had to use my inhaler at least 2x's per day. They need to use supplies that are friendly to asthmatics and those of us w/ allergies. The crew working there was great!

Outstanding! No more, no less...

We got what we went there for. Our expectatioins were high and they were all fulfilled. We were looking forward to a relaxing vacation with time to ourselves. Not high-life or action. However, if we“d like that sort of vacation sometime, we found out that one could easily have it there also.

Money-saving tip: Short drive from hotel

A nearby supermarket "Sweet Bay" had an excellent deli and in order to save on dining-out costs we visited it often. We keep many food items in the refrig. in our room. We enjoyed healthy, tasty, inexpensive & relaxed lunches & dinners on our balcony, which also had a great view of the palms, water, beach & sunsets.

Great destination for meeting

Overall resort was great - plenty of amenities and service was great. Only two minor complaints - a leaking air conditioner which was fixed pretty promptly and the window in my room was extremely small. If you can't do without natural light you really need to pay for the Gulf view room.

Fun & Relaxing

Great location and fun for the entire family! Nightly family movies by the pool. Great restaurants on the property with good food and friendly staff. I loved that the location was on the beach. The water was very warm and very relaxing. We enjoyed the paddle boats, mini-golf, just relaxing by the beach. We would definately go back to the Tradewinds.

Walked to Buona Pizza for lunch 3 times! It was THAT good! There was also a liquor store on the way and a Publix in the same shopping center as the restaurant.

Family Get-a-way

The overall stay was great! Love the location, the amenities such as on site resturants, events and rentals were very nice. The explaination of the $25.00 per day charge was less than stellar as was the requirement for this fee. The hotel staff were pleasent and helpful in most cases. Amenities are a little pricey given that you are already paying $25.00 per day.
