the room did not look like the pictures
staff was friendly, but the hotel is real old, and the room old, and did not look like the pictures on the website.

Great Place to Stay
Charming cozy little hotel. Very cute. Loads of extras. Happy hour (wine and pretzels) perfect relaxation. Lovely cafe area and front porch complete w. wicker chairs. Continental breakfast - cereal, bagels, juice, coffee/tea. yummy. Very convenient location. 6 minutes to Beach Dr. and downtown St. Petes. Charming choice. Parking lot next door. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I will stay there again. The room was small, but adequate. There was a sofa and desk in the room. Older style hotel, but clean. Huge rack of attraction brochures. Loved first floor location.

Downtown Secret
Everything is within walking distance, free parking in their lot, complimentary happy hour, smoking calm veranda, and continental breakfast. Staff [...] and [...] were awesome- full of information and aim to please! Great deal for the price, and enjoyed looking at all the historical touches. Bathrooms were small, and water temperature had to be adjusted, but the experience and price were well worth it! Will try to stay again next time we are doing something downtown and want to park the car for the night. Trolley for 25 cents that runs every 20 minutes on weekend nights will take you back from or wherever you would like to go. Great "staycation" away! Highly recommend!!!

I'll be back - Great B&B
We arrived late, tired and hungry - the staff was more than happy to answer our questions about the area, dining and provide direction for our early morning appointment - I truly felt welcomed and would make it a point to return!

Rooms so bad you won't stay
I travel to St. Petersburg yearly to see the Tampa Bay Rays play. I stay in downtown St. Pete and I walk to and from the ballpark. I checked in at The Pier Hotel and walked up a flight of stairs to my room. The room was very small, dark, musty, dirty, and unlocked. There was an unflushed toilet in the very small and primitive bathroom. The bed was so old it was sagging in the middle. When I opened the blinds to let some light in the room, I was faced with a tenement apartment ten feet away from my window. The paint was also peeling off the walls. Within minutes of my arrival, I checked out. I didn't even want a refund, I just ran to the Marriott Courtyard 2 blocks away.

Cute hotel, but needs some deep cleaning
The Pier Hotel is a charming 1920's building, very close to great restaurants by the waterfront. The staff was very friendly and helpful, however the rooms, and especially the bathrooms could use a deep cleaning.
