Caution

Beware of "You are going to love your room." We were given a penthouse room that was located next to the private dining room where wedding receptions (with loud music) were held until very late. The room was also next to service areas and elevators where metal carts of dishes and supplies for the receptions were moved after midnight and before 8:00 A.M. The room and view were beautiful BUT the noise was horrible!

Mom and Dad Getaway

The room was "nice" at best but over priced. For that amount of money I would have expected Hilton quality. Bongo's Beach Bar was fun. Deal of the week was a short drive north to the Salt Rock Grill (about a 20min. drive up the coast-north of Redington Beach)mouth watering steak and lobster! Worth the drive!

Sun, sand and shells.

Overall the hotel was nice, it was very clean, friendly staff. Location was great, beach was clean and wonderful. The room we had was a little deceptive, it was much smaller than anticipated, but it was nice none-the-less. I would go back to this hotel, but I will explore other possibilities first.

John's Pass was a great place to spend time. Deep Sea fishing with Hubbards was absolutely the best thing we did on our honeymoon. After we caught the fish, the Fisherman's Restaurant cooked our fresh fish for us for a cheap cheap price. It was sooooo good. This is something we will do every time we visit the area.

Nice hotel, nice location, old building

I loved the location of this hotel. It made my experience very enjoyable. I had a room facing the sunset, which was awesome. The balcony was nice, but often felt hot because the AC unit blew hot air onto the balcony. The AC unit in the room was very noisy. The room was clean, but needed a major overhaul. The couch and desk chair had a ton of stains on them. When I first got into the bed, I felt sand on the sheets, and then requested the sheets be changed. My room was directly off the elevator, but that wasn't a huge problem. The noise was only bad when someone was screaming or talking loudly. The food at Bongo's was good, although I personally think the food is the same at all the restaurents at this hotel. $5 charge to use the internet, even just to get boarding passes. They do give complimentary beach towels. Overall, I loved my time at this hotel, primarily because it was so peaceful.

Nightlife tip: In Hotel

There isn't really nightlife in the area. The beach bar was opened until about 1am, but the bar next door closed at 11. Very quiet area.

Great getaway!

Our experience was great. We lounged by the pool and beach, got drinks for the beach bar, and enjoyed a few attractions around St. Pete. The pool was quite small and often crowded...not at all what the pictures online lead you to believe. I enjoyed this hotel more than others I have stayed in on St. Pete Beach.

okay

I think this hotel was good for the price but nothing special.. it had no resort fees, free parking, free internet if you bring your own laptop (if you use their computers in the lobby it's a one time fee of $5. Let us check in at noon! Most rooms have balconies, which is nice. The decor was a bit dated. As far as housekeeping, the bed and bathroom were clean but the tile floor has not been washed the whole week we were there. It has a breakfast buffet for $10. The outside little restourant/bar was nice. Did not go to Spinners rotating restourant. Lots of shopping nearby, Fort DeSoto park and other beaches nearby. If you had no car, you could probably still find lots of restourants/food withing 2 miles.

Nice gulf front resort

We only stayed one night, but the location is great, the staff was wonderful and the beach front is beautiful. The rooms are okay, not dirty just worn. They are large and have balconies and were clean with decent bedding and electronics. The bathrooms could use some updating. We would stay there again.
