Nice but a small room.
The room was very nice but very small. It was just my wife and myself so it wasn't a problem but anymore and it would be too crowded. The room was very clean and had a great view out the sliding glass door.

Nice room, good get for the price
We checked into the room thinking it was probably below average since the price was so cheap. What a pleasant surprise when we found out that the room was a decent size, it had a kitchenette, and was really clean. Overall I wouldn't say it has the same quality as a 5 star hotel, but if you're looking for a cheap economy hotel that will give you a clean place to stay for the right price - this is it.

Nice place for a getaway
My wife and I were looking for an affordable place to stay on St. Pete Beach and settled on this hotel. The hotel was updated in 2010. Everything in our room was fresh and clean. We had a small balcony that overlooked the bay, but the balcony had no privacy from the room next door. The room had a nice size kitchen with fridge, range, sink, toaster, coffee maker, and a full set of dishes. A HDTV with built in DVD player is available. The air unit cooled the room nicely and was much quieter that most hotel units. The windows were older and let in a little more noise than I would have liked, but nothing that disturbed our sleep at night. The pool is small and would get crowded easily if the property was full. We chose to walk up the street to the sister property that is on the ocean and used the pool there. It was a nice place to getaway for a reasonable price and my wife and I both enjoyed our stay.

Wonderful view and amenities
The hotel room was great with a small kitchenette and grills which allowed us to make our own meals when we wanted to. Great views of the bay and two pools we could use. The one weird thing is that the resort has three properties all within a block of each, but the main office is at the Plaza Beach Resort, so that was a surprise when we arrived. The Resort had beach towel checkout before you went out on the beach, and free cabanas on the beach that were great for watching the sunset from.

Super cute rooms
This is a super cute hotel room. Has everything you need like a kitchen with all it's utensils, closet, shelves, etc. The bathroom was also very nice and the shower was very relaxing. The balcony was just a few feet away from the water! a pretty view. Super nice costumer service as well and everything was very clean. I am definatly staying here again!

love to travel
small, but it did the job
My friend and I arrived early morning in Tampa with lots of time to spare before our 3:00 check in. The hotel informed us that they currently are undergoing renovations and our room wouldn't be ready until 4:00, but we'd be receiving an upgrade at no cost. No problem, there's a beautiful beach right across the street. Well come 4:00 I'd yet to hear from the hotel on our room's status so we stopped back into the office only to find out that it was going to be another hour before we could get into our room. The very friendly receptionist apologized and offered us vouchers for a burger place, we declined, bikinis and burgers don't mix well. But this posed a problem as we had standing dinner plans with our friend we were in town to visit and had yet to unpack, unwind, or settle in. We decided to park ourselves in the office and wait it out. Shortly after a couple comes into the office with no reservations and inquires about room availability. "No problem" the receptionist responds, "I've got a room available right now" and she gets them set up all the while, we're still waiting. After realizing we had existing reservations and noticing that we're still waiting on our room it dawns on the receptionist that she could put us in another room! Ugh. At least we can make dinner. The room itself had everything you need: full sized fridge, stove top, sink, and cooking utensils, BUT very little room to navigate around it. There was a coffee maker, but no coffee. Complimentary happy hour, but no breakfast. Just random and strange to me.

Beautiful view...near perfect getaway
I had a close friend who needed some time alone. I used to live in nearby South Pasadena and remembered this area fondly. After doing some research the Bayview Plaza seemed perfect...a smaller motel with limited number of rooms, water view and excellent reviews with no complaints of loud noise. I booked the same day as the stay and upgraded to a bay view room with a queen bed. When we arrived there was a small glitch with the reservations. We were taken to a ground floor room with double beds. I pointed out I had paid for an upgrade and, with one quick call to the owner, we were taken to the master suite. (A+ for customer service). That room was amazing...large balcony, glassed in sitting room overlooking the water, full kitchen with new appliances and spectacular view of the bay (really more of a canal, but still very nice). It was both spotless and well equipped. The bathroom was a bit small, but everything else more than made up for that. The staff was extremely friendly and courteous. If I could, I would rate the Bayview Plaza 4.5 stars due to two minor issues. Weekend check-out time is 10:00 AM...11 would be greatly appreciated. Also, it would appear they are at the end of some renovations or significant maintenance on the property. There was some banging going on around 7:30 Sunday morning. Once they finish the project and if they extended check-out to 11 as previously mentioned, I would rate it 5 stars...6 stars when you factor in the very reasonable prices of their rooms.

A Little Gem
We were there for a family reunion. This quiet little place is perfect for anything. There is a patio with tiki roofed picnic tables, lounge chairs, barbecue, pool and it is right on the inlet. Very quiet. Very beautiful and makes you feel secluded, yet able to entertain small groups of family. Quiet hour is just that -- quiet hour. Beds are very comfortable. Immaculate. Just a lovely, lovely place with spectacular views and staff. It doesn't get any better than this!

Pleasantly surprised
When we arrived at the hotel I was unsure because it does not look very nice from the outside. Next we had to go down the road to even check in which was very weird. Once we finally checked in and got into our room I was pleasantly surprised. The room was very large, the amenities were great, and the balcony was awesome. Don't judge a book by its cover.
