DISGUSTING

where do you start ? no linens, toilet broke, window so dirty hard to see daylight, barking dogs in adjacent rooms, within 100 feet of a busy rail line that shook the building, some kind of long term tenants living there, definitely not tourist and scary looking, generally run down and dirty. I reserved two rooms for two nights. We stayed one night because it was late and everything was booked for a Saturday. Got out of there the next morning. I have stayed at low end hotels by my choice and price but none as disgusting as this one and these folks charge premium prices for historic st. Augustine. This was so disgusting I will never stay in a quality inn again if this place meets their standards. I do not want to hear a excuse about the place being a franchise and quality inn has no control, they put their brand on the building. They did give me a $30 break on price, but as I told the people I would not stay there again for free

Everything went just fine

Got one of the rooms facing the train tracks.. I read on the reviews that it was too noisy in the night, but actually we didn't hear any noise at all. The bed was super comfortable.

Friendly staff

The hotel is located outside of St. Augustine. Nevertheless you can reach the center by foot, for the beach you need a car. The Staff was very friendly....especially the waffle-cook was great. During night time, the train is quite loud because its very near. The furnitures are ok, but the rooms were not really clean.

Comfy but LOUD!

I can say that the room itself was nice and very cozy, but every 30 minutes a train ran behind the hotel which made it impossible to sleep. They didn't stop running until almost midnight, and I ended up with a room in the back of the hotel...which was closest to the tracks. The guy at the front desk said there was something posted on their website warning potential stayers about the noise. I don't recall seeing that when I booked so I was a bit disappointed.

Dining tip: Short drive from hotel

Avoid the Village Inn restaraunt. Some food was cold, terrible service and even worse management.
