The room is decorated with great detail. The bath area is spacious. I asked to be moved from the first floor to third and it was done quickly and with good customer regard. I've had dinner here and it is excellent.

Very nice hotel
Arrived a little early and had to wait for room. Hotel has a 4pm check-in time. Our room was not ready when we returned so they gave us a free upgrade to a room with a jacuzzi tub. Hotel is very nice. A small pool and only one hot-tub but you are two minutes froom the beach, so if that's not important to you, you'll like it. A restaurant is on premises so noe free breakfast. A bit pricey but not too bad. great stay overall. Would reccomend to friends.

Where elegance and economy collide
The Castillo Real is conveniently located in the heart of the business district of St Augustine Beach, yet it is quiet and steps away from the beach. We stayed for several days recently and on a couple of those days we never had to get into our car. Within walking distance are several excellent restaurants (Stir It Up was the best), shops, and the St. John's Pier. The hotel has cool tile throughout for hot little feet following a day at the beach. The rooms are clean and well-appointed, the beds are comfortable, the bathroom sink is marble and the shower is very large. The pool area is beautiful and the jacuzzi is hot. They also have a sauna & steamroom on the 4th floor. The fitness center is spare and the rooms nearest the lobby are not as quiet. However, the staff was outstanding and went out of their way to ensure that we enjoyed our stay. The price was quite a bargain. I recommend this hotel.

Short walk from hotel
For a taste of cool, try Stir It Up. Located about a quarter of a mile South from the hotel, one can easily walk along the beach to the A Street access. This cute little restaurant is outdoor seating only- but you won't mind as it is on a breezy porch where you can catch a glimpse of the ocean. They offer delicious smoothies, wraps & burritos stuffed with fresh veggies. We opted for vegan-style, but they have stuff for the omnivores, too. No worries. The theme is based on Bob Marley tunes & the staff are very friendly & easy-going. Totally has that surfer vibe. You will not be disappointed. I suggest the GreenRito & a Get Up Stand Up smoothie. Enjoy!

Affordable Spring Break Getaway
Three girls and I went down to St. Augustine for our Spring Break and to visit one of the girl's boyfriend. We arrived at the hotel early however they allowed us to sit by the pool 'til they called us letting us know our room was ready. The beds were one of the most comfy hotel beds I've ever slept in, there was a LOT of room for three people to stay in & there was a small vanity area next to the sink with a door separating the shower and toilet. We received a coupon for the restaurant downstairs which was good enough for the price. We spent most of our vacation at the pool, downtown, and roaming the streets of the island we were on. The only few issues I had with the hotel was that when we had called to ask what time breakfast was being served at the restaurant they gave us an incorrect time. We also have had to call for our room to be tidied up. However, this is a great hotel if you need a comfy bed to sleep in at night, a lot of room to put your things away, and a pool! For the price we paid as a group (split among 3) I would say that we benefited from this hotel. The reason I would put 4 stars is because of the bed and the lay out of the room. Just be wary of the sub-par customer service.

Better than I expected - Wonderful Hotel
The Castillo Real Resort Hotel in St. Augustine, Florida, exceeded my HIGH expectations. The front desk people were polite and efficient, the house keeping staff was accommodating, professional and pleasant, the restaurant menu was filled with delightful choices, the food was prepared perfectly with no pretension, just flavor and class. The waiters were friendly and attentive. The moderate prices were a welcome change, and the warm atmosphere encouraged great conversations with our clients. Every encounter with the employees was an excellent experience. The location is just a short walk to the beach and the parking was very convenient. I would like to address one thing I read in a different persons review of this hotel. They wrote about the shear curtains. Fact is, if they LOOKED for the curtain rod for the heavy privacy curtain, they would have found it in 30 seconds. DOH! Since my work requires frequent travel around the world, I have stayed in many four and five star resorts. The Castillo Real Resort Hotel in St. Augustine, Florida is my new home away from home. Thank you for everything, I'll be back.
