Great place
The hotel was as described. We did have two rooms and asked they be together but this was not done and could not be changed at the time of check in. That was the only negative. The hotel is pet friendly which was nice since we could bring our small dog. The hotel staff does a great job of keeping the hotel clean and it doesn't smell of animals. Over all good rooms and price.

My review of La Quinta Inn Sarasota
LaQuinta in Sarasota was nicely refurbished recently. I had to wonder where was the manager? Did the owner care? I saw very few staff. There was little if any attention to security. It seemed like neighborhood residents would come and go as they pleased.

nice room poor breakfast
The room was very clean and in good repair. The continental breakfast was very poor. They were out of most items and the person resupplying it was rude and very slow.

Clean ,comfortable and convenient
Hotel very convenient to Ringling College, where we visited with my son. Easy access to the beach areas, restaurants + attractions. Adequate facilities. Breakfast very basic, disappointing fruit/healthy food selections.

Excellent location
Located close enough to everything but far enough away from the crowds. Decor-exceptional, contemporary, we loved it. Though, the doors sit on a wood floor and a weather strip should be added to mitigate the noise from the halls. Nice, helpful front desk staff. Breakfast display is not set up for a crowded holiday boat race weekend. The waffle-making held up the whole morning. So we did not get breakfast after returning twice to the lounge, but this would not stop us from returning and would stay there again, hopefully soon.

Short drive from hotel
OK, not exactly a short drive, but definitely worth the drive and the wait. The SandBar at the end of AnnaMarie, friendly, excellent food and you can't put a price on the sunset.

Basically we slept there and had the continental breakfast every morning. The location is close to so many things to do!

Lookin' for value...
Mostly OK...
The hotel was OK/nice; the staff were really friendly. There is no "real view" from the hotel; it's on a main drag with a vacant lot between the hotel and a marina that you can't really see. The hallways outside of the elevators smelled horribly of cigarette smoke. The room was clean; a little too much "air freshener" to cover up previous smokers who weren't supposed to have been there.

Better than the immediate area
I have stayed here before, so, must have liked it enough to re-book. The location is a bit sketchy, but, convinient. The rooms were very nice.
