Close to downtown

The hotel is close to downtown Sarasota, which is great. It is nice place to stay (clean, friendly employees). Only complain I have is that people with pets should stay in different floor than people without. I don't have any problems with animals, but if you are in town for business and dog starts barking at 1am...it is no fun...Otherwise, the hotel is very nice place to stay.....

Awesome weekend in Sarasota!

Went to Sarasota for a wedding on Longboat Key. All the rooms on the key were too expensive so we found an inexpensive alternative with La Quinta. It was about a half hour drive to the wedding but I was happy to be at La Quinta since it was close to alot more fun things to do. Whenever I make my way back down to Sarasota, I will definitely be staying there!

Shopping tip: Short drive from hotel

St. Armond's Center was a great place to hang out in the down town districts. We happened to be there during an art festival that took place there which was awesome along with all of the shops and the beaches all in this great area.

A little bit of paradise

My girlfriend and I have stayed at LaQuinta for the last 5 years on our Florida vacation, and at this particular location for the last two. The area is, of course, fabulous, and your establishment is first class. We are early risers. We fish and play hard every day, and appreciate coming back each evening to a clean room and a well maintained pool. What a great place.

Budget-Minded? Fine, if you have a Car!

Close to airport and downtown Sarasota; you can walk to Subway and Chinese carry-out. Breakfast every morning, including waffles, hard-boiled eggs, yogurt. Convenient to all the tourist must-dos, but most things in this town are, since it is very accessible. We stayed 7 nights , and the housekeeping was some days great, other days, not very. We had to ask for shampoo at front desk twice, and towels once, but otherwise, a very good value. Nice pool. They can't keep enough bottled water stocked in the vending machines for beach-bound travellers; this was sold out the whole week. Grocery store (Publix) was close, so we stocked up there and put in refrig in room.

Sightseeing tip: Short drive from hotel

Lido Beach is one of the nicest we've seen. If you get to the J & M Ringling Museums, be prepared for a world-class experience, and plan on spending most of the day to see the four separate museums (fine art, mansion, circus history, circus in miniature) for one price. We were there in September, so we went "two for the price of one," an exceptional value.

Good Value

The staff was very accomodating, the room was more than adequate, the location was very good and the Orbitz price was right. It was everything I needed including morning breakfast at 6:00. The breakfast was supposed to be at 7:00 but they put on the coffee and turned on the lights for me early. Highly recomended for a value lodging..

Nice clean room, noisy bathroom fan

The room and the hotel itself was clean. The hotel workers were friendly and attentive. However, the breakfast schedule was not convenient. The food was taken away at 9am during the week that I was there. The room was clean, but the bathroom fan was noisy and I believe the bed sheets were not changed during my stay. The location was perfect for going downtown and to the Siesta Key area beaches.

Stay Away - Dishonest!

if you want your stuff stolen or thrown away only to have the hotel tell you it's your fault and not replace it - then stay here. My retainers were thrown away by the housekeeping department. After escalating this to their so called "Risk Management" department... they accused me of lying and believed the housekeeper over me. the replacement cost of the retainers is $950!!! I am out that money as I have to replace the retainers as soon as I get back to Los Angeles. they kept saying there is nothing they can do. I travel to Sarasota every two months for a week or two. that's revenue they are now losing which is about $4k-$6k a year. They value there housekeeper who made a mistake more than they value... a customer. DON"T STAY HERE

Great price, great hotel...will be back!

Went to Sarasota for the Orioles spring training. The hotel was the perfect location for being close to EVERYTHING. We even went to Bradenton for a Pirates game. Close to the beaches, Armands Circle, restaurants, night life... La Quinta had the best price of all the other hotels we were looking at, and was very nice. The decor was great, room was clean and the breakfast was great... even included fresh 'make your own' waffles!!
