honeymoon!!

I felt like i was on my honeymoon even though we weren't ! This quaint little place is perfect for people who dont want alot going on around them. beautiful sunrises!! I highly recommend for couples! Bikes, beach chairs, umbrella, and wonderful breakfast all included! Clean, well kept . They could use new pillows and mattresses. I wish I had tipped the woman who makes the breakfast, but didnt think about it in time. Staff very friendly and helpful!! I will go back to song of the sea again someday.

Romantic getaway with husband

It was wonderful from the moment we arrived and Natalie checked us in and gave us a dining guide with suggestions for various types of restaurants on the island. Our room was so lovely, the decor was beautiful! The bed and bedding was truly one of the most comfortable beds we have ever slept in! The Innkeeper Cheryl was delightful to chat with each morning while we enjoyed the continental breakfast, she would show genuine interest in our plans for the day and what adventures we had experienced the day before. The grounds were lovely and there were bikes for us to use to ride on the bike trails throughout the island. We enjoyed searching for shells on the beach as well as relaxing on the lounge chairs provided for our use on the lovely beach. all in all it was sch a relaxing vacation and we will definitely be returning and recommending Song of the Sea to family and friends.

Song of the Sea

Great place to spend a quiet trip to Sanibel Island. Everything was great when we first opened the door and Cheryl was there to greet us. The property was beautifully maintained and clean. Our room was a little outdated, but very clean and plenty of clean towels. One of the beds was a little lumpy but we spent so much time on the gorgeous beach that it didn't matter too much. Breakfast was plentiful and fresh each day. From housekeeping to grounds workers everyone was pleasant and helpful. The restaurant in the property next door was very good. We enjoyed one meal there where there was a wedding reception was going on. We chose Song of the Sea because it was one of the smaller hotel/resorts on the Island. It was very quiet and peaceful. We met so many other happy travelers around the pool each evening.

Lighthouse Cafe is exceptional for breakfast and lunch. Dinners don't start until December 15th, but make sure to go there for brunch. Also in the same small shopping is the BEST ice cream I've had in ages. Pinochios

A perfect but too short stay

Our first trip to Sanibel Island but not our last. True, Mother Nature had a hand in our perfect but all too short stay. Weather could not have been better. But we would say the same about Song of the Sea. We received a very good price from Ortiz so we felt this was a good value. The bikes may be old but they worked well. We loved the fact that beach chairs and umbrellas were placed on this great section of the beach each morning. The small kitchenette suited our needs. The complimentary breakfast did the same. The only negative, a dresser to put our clothes would be nice. The staff was amazing. Very helpful. We are already talking about returning and we wouldn't hesitate to stay at Song of the Sea.

Just 2 miles is the Island Cow. If you like fried oysters, they were the best. Kind of loud, not fancy.

Wonderful place!!

This is a wonderful place for couples who want to have a quiet and relaxing getaway. The service, the staff were fabulous. We just loved having the complementary bikes to use daily. It is a good size room, very clean and the kitchenette is practical. The bathroom although a bit small, is also very clean and pleasant. The King size bed is great. The only bad thing is the smell on the pillows. They need to be replaced and covered with 2 cases. The new beach chairs are beautiful and very nice. We are looking forward to our next visit.

Valentine's surprise!

Arrived late 2/12 to be greeted warmly and told we had a gift waiting in the room (a bottle of merlot), and a $100 winter passport credit at the resorts of Sanibel that I did not know about (good for meals at the Sea Star Cafe or golf credit).Had a special 3 course Valentine's Day meal that included a champagne toast for a ridiculously low price! The room itself was generously large. Seat cushions were worn, and the queen bed a bit too soft. The wide screen TV had to be turned on manually as the remote was confusingly busy. The screened-in porch overlooked the small pool. The bathroom was a bit cramped, but with good counter space. The shower had a useful/forceful water spray. There was a hair dryer and make-up mirror. The room also came with a small kitchenette (appliances and utensils) if you wanted to cook your own food. There was a tasty complimentary continental breakfast that included waffles. Shelling on the beach was plentiful and free. Watched dolphins cavort within 30 feet of the shoreline one morning, catching fish. Bicycles could also be had FOR FREE! We drove to some of the attractions of Sanibel, Captiva, and Ft. Myers. The Ding Darling Wildlife Refuge is not to be missed. Air boat rides in Everglades City were only 2 hours' drive away, and well worth the trip. The Edison/Ford Estates in Ft. Myers along with the Manatee Park are also highly recommended. We also enjoyed a superb dinner at The Mad Hatter, and watched to sunset one evening (the Song of the Seas face southeast). The Island Cow had great shrimp and grouper tacos. Pinocchio's served ice cream so delicious we went twice.
