Great winter get-a-way
This is not your typical Holiday Inn. Sanibel Island is very nice and not touristy. the hotel is very pretty and fit in with the understated island look. As I checked in I asked if I could have a late check-out since we had a late flight the next day and the forecast called for sun and 85 degrees! He said to call early the next day, but had his doubts because so many people asked the same thing. I called the desk the next morning at 7 am and another gentleman answered and gave us a 2pm check-out (instead of 11am) which was really nice. We had time to have breakfast, (take-out bagels from the hotel restaurant that we took to the pool area), stroll the beach and then shower before leaving. The pool area is small but nice and the location on the beach is great. At bit pricey but we had a wonderful, but much too short, stay!

Excellent Hotel
The Holiday Inn on Sanibel Island is outstanding in every way. The staff was especially helpful and went out of their way to provide service and information. Truly, in all of my years traveling around the country, the Holiday Inn on Sanibel Island is the best I have experienced. The hotel was a bit pricey, but if any hotel is worth that price, this one was. It was excellent in every way!!!!!

Very Quaint and Quiet
The Holiday Inn on Sanibel Island could not have done a better job. It's not the fanciest hotel on the world room-wise but heck who cares, you are on the beach all day. The pool was very nice and the tiki bar was even better out by the pool. If you are a beach bum like me and my wife this is a perfect place for the price. Also the emplyoyees were very friendly, which you do not see much of these days. Defintely worth a trip back

Great places to eat on the island,go early so you can get back to the beach for the sunset. Our recommendation would be The Mucky Duck in Captiva on the northside of the 2 islands. Great food and awesome sunset views.

Catered to our personal needs
The Courtney's Restaurant located on the Holiday Inn premises was very attentive to our dining needs. Our daughter has Celiac Disease. She needs to be on a gluten free diet. The waitress made sure our daughter's breakfast was cooked and handled properly. The food was delicious. Later that day, the same waitress was working the snack bar by the pool. Again she went out of her way to make sure the food my daugher requested was something she was able to eat. She even asked if I wanted to read the ingredients to make sure it was gluten free. We can't tell you how much this means to us. To be able to go somewhere and not have to worry about what or where we would have to eat is a blessing. The Hotel was very clean and the staff was very helpful. We would definitely stay there again and have already recommended it to other people.

Great Vacation Spot
The Holiday Inn Sanibel Island was clean, comfortable and met our needs. The bathroom area was a little small and could use some updating, but not a major distraction. The room had a king side bed, and a small table at the window. The room was decorated in island type colors, very nice! The housekeeping was great!! Everyday, the housekeeping staff cleaned the room, made our beds, etc. and in a timely fashion. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone staying on beautiful Sanibel Island.

Nothing is in walking distance at Sanibel. There are great eating places and shops to eat and visit, but you will have to drive.
