SpringHill Suites by Marriott Orlando North/Sanford

We stayed one night due to an early morning flight on a return trip from Disney World. The hotel was conveniently located in close proximity to the airport. It was late when we checked in and the clerk told me that the only room they had left with 2 queen beds was handicapped and that it didn't cost that much more. I had reserved the room in advance and prepaid so I wasn't quite sure why our room wasn't waiting on us. I accepted the handicapped room which worked out fine for us. Traveling with an 18 month old, I needed some milk for bedtime. I went to the clerk and she unlocked the breakfast room to get me 2 small cartons of 2% milk! That was exactly what I needed to get the little one to settle down. We left before breakfast so I can't comment on that. I would stay there again. Lots of great restaurants around it too!

Hot tub dirty entire stay - dark scum around edge and two cigarette butts in the tub as well. Hallways and elevators dirty with paper and debris. Housekeeper came by at 3:50 pm to clean the our suite which I declined, as it was already so late in the day.

We were extremely pleased with our choice of hotel. The grounds were beautiful and well kept and the lobby created a favourable impression of the rest. Our room smelled fresh, was very clean and comfortable. The hotel is very quiet and the only time you knew there were other people staying there was when you met them at the elevator or at breakfast. It was also very pleasant to meet such helpful, courteous and cheerful staff. They responded to all our requests for information and attention promptly and efficiently. The location was ideal for our purposes. We were in Florida to attend a funeral and the hotel is close to the highway leading to Deltona where the funeral took place as well as to Orange City and DeLand where we have relatives. Although shopping was not a major part of this trip, we were able to visit two shopping malls located within easy walking distance of the hotel. The area is also well served by a number of eateries that offer a wide choice of cuisine. Unfortunately, due to our hectic pace on this trip, we were not able to use the swimming pool. As a once in a lifetime treat, on our first evening there from the hotel grounds we were able to see the Discovery shuttle seconds after its launching! All in all, we received very good value for the money and we would not hesitate to return and to recommend this hotel to our friends and family.

Classy decor. Helpful front desk clerk. Close to shopping and restaurants. Easy to get to Sanford airport.
