Wyndham Palm-Aire

Overall the resort was excellent! The POSITIVES: **Nice pools, very large 2 BR suite (very comfortable for the 6 of us), fully equipped kitchen, mini golf, pool volleyball, and many activities i.e. BINGO! (if you are so inclined). **Access to the beach via other Wyndham resorts was GREAT! We didn't take the shuttle; we instead drove on our own (so we could come and go on our schedule), parked for free at one Wyndham, walked across the street and got wristbands for another Wyndham which is right on the beach. (Had to pay $5 per lounge chair but that was OK for the convenience). Really nice feature as our resort was ~6 miles from the beach. **My husband, daughter and her boyfriend all golfed (got 50% off) and really enjoyed the 2 courses they played. Very convenient too (I just dropped them off each morning). **Nice exercise facility The NEGATIVES: **When we checked in, we had a couple questions for the Concierge regarding golf. The person who assisted us immediately dove into a fast-talking Sales pitch regarding our attending a 90 minute presentation (and we would receive discount coupons in return). We really didn't know what she was even talking about at first (she never "framed" the pitch, just started selling!). We eventually figured out what she was talking about but we were not interested in taking 90 minutes away from our vacation anyway. Not the most "professional Concierge staff/chatted alot while you stood there/on cell phones... **There was no "cleaning service" (bed making, sheet changing, bathroom cleaning, trash removal) which we were unaware of. Apparently you can get that service for a fee. **The pool bar didn't open until 1:00pm (rather late!). **Beds were a bit uncomfortable/soft and it was very difficult to balance the air conditioning (either too cold with it on or too warm with it off)

On my day of check-out, I had and early morning meeting from 8-9am, I asked at the front desk the night before about getting late check out at noon (instead of the usual 10am), and was told their company policy requires $35 for the first hour of late check out, $100 for each additional hour. This would have essentially resulted in me paying for and extra day hotel stay, just to get a litle delay on check out (the hotel was not overly busy). I was quite disappointed they would not consder working with me on this. I ended up just going to the airport 4hours early. i definitely would not stay here again

the spa was very good but limited hours and the whril pool in the roomwas good but small good place to stay for peace and quite but for excitement you have to go out.

The reservation was messed up and though we'd booked a one bedroom they tried to put us in a studio the first night and asked us to move to a one bedroom the second night. When we indicated that wasn't what we'd reserved and paid for, they moved us to a one-bedroom unit in a motel-like building away from the main resort. The room was fine, but not what I'd call extremely clean. We were also paying more than motel prices. We like staying in condo-like units when we travel with the baby so we can have food for her, and a separate place for her to nap. The room did have a good layout. The golf courses and pool looked nice but we didn't have a chance to use them. There is only housekeeping done once every 8 days, so be prepared for that - we weren't. We also woke up to no hot water our first morning. When we called they fixed it - they just never called or stopped by to say they fixed it. We just tried it and found an hour or so later that it worked. Perhaps we just had some back luck but weren't impressed. We stay in the area frequently to visit family and won't be going back to this hotel.

I was told I could reserve a crib for my daughter before I made my reservation. Upon check in, I was told that I was misinformed and no cribs were available. My 10 months old slept in the bathtub as a result. After repeated calls to management, the most they did for me was offer two sandwiches at their pool house. I will never go back or stay at a Wyndham!

It was a relaxing place to be after working all day. Everything was great. Best place I've ever stayed. Perfect if you do not care if your right on the beach.
