Efficient rooms and suites, free breakfast and worship services

An affiliation with the Marie Green Forum for Global Missions throws a religious twist into the accommodations at The Forum, a 74-room property in Pompano Beach. The alcohol- and smoke-free hotel invites guests to partake in daily worship services and visit the community lounges on every floor, where couches and TVs create a relaxed setting for fellowship. Rooms--including standards and suites equipped with full kitchens--pay tribute to missionary work with photographs of children on the walls.

Highlights
  • Budget hotel operated by the Marie Green Forum for Global Missions
  • Alcohol- and smoke-free property with suites and standard rooms
  • Community lounges on every floor
  • Multiple worship services every day
  • Free breakfast and Wi-Fi
Rooms

Reminders of The Forum's devotion to missionary efforts line the walls, which bear black-and-white and color portraits of children. Standard rooms and suites stick to a black-and-red palate, with red comforters topping king or double beds set up near black café tables and coordinating media cabinets. All rooms are enabled for Wi-Fi and boast a microwave and mini-refrigerator. Suites have bonus features like a full kitchen and separate living and dining areas.

Features

The Forum embraces Christian values, hosting multiple worship services every day and partnering with the American Bible Society, Cross international, Gulf Stream Baptist Association and similar organizations to spread fellowship. The hotel invites patrons to mingle with others in two couch-filled community lounges per floor, which offer Wi-Fi, a temporary-use refrigerator, vending machines, TVs, laundry rooms and microwave. The hotel requires that guests abstain from alcohol and smoking during their stay.

Not too bad.

I just recently returned from my stay at The Forum. The staff was great, the room was pretty good and the value for it all was excellent. The only problem which is easily avoided by having a car is the location of The Forum. nothing is within walking distance. the closest store was a Wal-mart about 1.5 miles down the road, across a 4 lane, and the nearest beach is 2 miles in the opposite direction. However, with a car everything is accessible. Miami Beach is a 35 minute drive. Miami is about a 25 minute drive and Sun Life Stadium is about a 15 minute drive. Fort Lauderdal international is also about 20 minutes away. The staff was very helpful. The room was clean, but some minor issues with the furniture were noticed such as cracks in the night stand. Marks on the inside of closet, and the maids weren't always dependable. One time we returned to our room after 12 hours and our room was not even touched. The breakfast was very good however, my father and I ate at a local Denny's more often. one other complaint is you only get one room key. This made it somewhat of a problem for us to do 2 different things at the same time. 2 room keys would have been great. The bathrooms are small yes, but we made due with what we had just fine for 5 days. All in all The Forum is a great place to stay. They are religious there but do not force it upon you at all. For $65 a night we had a great time.

Not a great experience

Unfortunately was not a great experience. The air conditioner did not work properly. It never cycled so I was having to get up and constantly adjust so as not to get too hot. I could not get Wi-Fi which was very inconvenient as I was traveling for business. Staff was pleasant and personable. Just ok for one night only. Might be better suited for retreat/conference functions for groups. Large common area outside of rooms would lend itself to group gatherings and they may not need strong Wi-Fi.

It worked for me

For one adult, staying for 2 nights, it was very comfortable. For a hospital converted to a hotel, there were elements that looked like a hospital, but overall, it was nicer than some of the chain hotels where I've stayed. It was a little out of the way if you're not familiar w/ the area, but only a couple of miles off main streets. I would definitely stay there again.

Perfect for a few days

Staff was friendly and everytime we left late afternoon The house keeper would automatically clean the Room. The room has a microwave and Mini frigerator. I was happy there was only a $25 deposit to stay Compare to other hotels a $200 depost hold. I will Definately stay there again. Also keep in mind it does Have a hospital feel to it because it was but it didn't Bother me because I would only be to sleep And not spend time there.

Outstanding Value!

I had read other online reviews of The Forum and knew it is part of a Christian conference center, so I welcomed the non-smoking and non-drinking policies. The staff were all friendly and exceptionally helpful. The room was austere, but very clean, spacious, and the bed quite comfortable -- and that's all I wanted or expected for a one-night stay. There is no nearby restaurant, but several places deliver food that is reasonably priced and arrives within 45 minutes. The free WiFi connection worked well once I was provided the password. Vending machine prices are reasonable, so nothing to complain about.

The hotel is apparently listed on GPS as "The Marie Green Forum" so my shuttle driver could not program the route based on just "The Forum", but had to find it by address instead. Worked out fine, but would have eased my mind not to feel like we were having to search for it.

Excellent accommodation away from home

We enjoyed our stay at the Forum. The staff were very courteous, the room was very clean and the amenities were excellent. There was no pool or gym but given the nature of our stay that was okay. We would definitely stay here again.

I wouldn't stay here again

This is a converted hospital, I asked the desk clerk. Overall the Hotel is not very clean, and the decor is poor. The room amenities are out dated. The bathroom was dirt and never updated from it's hospital days. The breakfast, although free, was lacking, and the coffee was not good. I would not recommend anyone stay here unless you absolutely cannot afford a hotel at $100/night.
