Key West Inn

Hotel staff was GREAT! Very friendly, very accomodating. First night's room (King w/ sleeper sofa) was not good. The sleeper sofa upholstry was VERY dirty. I would not allow my child to sleep on it. Hotel staff offered a double queen room, but we made due with the King room. We moved the next morning to a pool side double queen room. Room was much cleaner. Rooms have kitchenettes, but are not stocked with eating utensils, dishes, etc. It would make much more sense to get rid of empty kitchen cupboards and replace with a dorm room type refridgerator and a small microwave. Both rooms we stayed in had cheap, very hard mattresses. The hotel lobby was pleasant and a nice (but small) breakfast selection each morning. Pool was clean, grounds could have used a bit of sprucing up. We would stay at this hotel again because we don't spend much time in our room while on vacation; however, it would be nice to see the hotel management/owner invest a bit of money in better quality beds and sprucing up the rooms/grounds.

This hotel is rated [...] as a 3 star hotel. It shouldn't even be rated a 1 star. Sketchy people loiter in the parking lot and make what looked like drug deals. There was what seemed to be a broken down van in one of the parking spots. The hotel room was big, but musky, out dated, and dirty. Both mattresses were covered in brown stains and one of the beds had a mysterious stain on the sheets. I wouldn't have dared walked on the carpet with bare feet or even with socks on. I wore flip flops when walking around because the carpet was so dirty. We went to bed and when I turned the light on to go to the bathroom, I saw several roaches scatter and crawl under the bed. I went and told the front desk clerk who told me there was nothing he could do. After a long argument, he ended up giving me a key to another room to stay in. I went to go inspect the room first and there was a roach in the hallway floor DIRECTLY in front of the new room!! I killed it and put it in a cup, and took it to the front desk clerk. He told me there was nothing he could do, and that maybe I should stop trying to "find" roaches. I asked for a refund and he told me he wasn't authorized to give me one. He told me the manager would be in the next morning. I went ahead and checked out at that time, and called for the manager the next morning. TWO days later and I still haven't been able to get a hold of the manager. I doubt I ever receive a refund. STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL. IT IS FULL OF ROACHES AND NO TELLING WHAT ELSE!!!!!!!!!!!!

We actually wanted to stay in Gulf Shores, but nothing was available. We have a Key West where we live and it was nothing like what we have here. The room had an odor to it. It was a non-smoking room, so smoke wasn't the factor. It was dirty. The air conditioner didn't work correctly. We were burning up the 1st night we were there. The 2nd night was a little more tollerable. We fixed something to reflect the air. They suppposedly check the air out. We didn't have wash clothes. When my husband asked for them, he was looked at like he made the owner or manager made because he had to give us some wash clothes. We did not like that hotel and will never stay there again. We drove to Gulf Shores, AL and spent most of the time there.

The first thing I saw when I entered the establishment was a sign that said "No Refunds After 5 Minutes". That should have been my wake up call. [...] I stayed there two nights and they were the worst two nights I have ever spent in a hotel/motel. There was a coffee pot, no cups, not coffee, just the pot. Ants (tiny) crawled on the counter, I was afraid to touch anything. I really am at a loss for words, it was just horrible. [...] I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy.

There was no one at the window when we arrived after ringing the bell for about 5 min. and worrying we may be stranded. the man showed up said he jad been with a guest. I suggested he put a sign in the window. I was very upset to see the advertisment on the marqui for 40 a night and I had paid 60+ dollars I am very upset that I was financially taken advantage of. the very low quality of this hotel was not worth what I had to pay [...]. the Bathroom had pubic hair in the sink. the light bulbs were broken and the lamp shades were stained. this was a seedy pooooorly maintained hotel the WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD. I was afraid to let my niece touch any thing and was concerned we might catch scabies.[...]TRAVELED FROM US TO INDIA AND CANADA. THIS WAS THE WORST HOTEL I HAVE EVER BEEN IN. I AM SO UPSET THAT I SPENT THE MONEY ON THIS HOTEL. I HOPE I HEAR BACK FROM YOU. I PLAN TO TRAVEL TO CANADA IN APRIL.

The room reserved was a double king, non-smoking kitchenette. The room we got was a single queen (a double king was not available) smelling of old smoke and the kitchenette consisted of a coffee maker with no coffee, cups or filters and a small toaster oven. The room did have a full size fridge though. The desk clerk and the manager I dealt with seemed I was more of an interruption than a paying customer. See my recommendation below.

we were 4 people, and I reserved a king size bed with a sleeper sofa. There was no sheet for sofa, nor a blanket. I asked for them, and they told me that they usually didn't have anything for a sleeper sofa except a pillow and sheet. I had to insist that they give me something for a sofa, and they finally, very unwillingly, gave me a blanket that was filthy. They had a small kitchen with 2 forks, and they weren't washed. They had some unknown brown stuff which looked like it had beeen there for quite awhile. I went to the front desk and asked for spoons, since there were none. The guy at the desk just told me that the reason why there was none was his guests took them out. I had to insist to get some, again, and he finally gave me plastic spoons. Alos, there was a coffee maker without any coffee to brew. There were abundant roaches, the small kind, walikng in the room, and also everywhere else in the hotel. When we were sitting in the screened porch right outside of dining area, there were roaches jumping from one chair to another, we left. it was aweful, and we will NEVER stay there again. EVER. I rather sleep in my car than stay there and pay for it.

Awful!!!!After one night there were roaches on the floor when we awoke....The staff wasnt helpul either was orbitz...wanted to switch hotels they would not let us...be very careful wjat you book here!!!!!!!

The room was a shocker to me. I have been using Orbitz for well over 5 years and this was the worst experience. I always choose atleast a 3 start rated hotel -this was supposed to be a 3 star. But it was no way near. Orbitz let me down big time. The star rating needs a review.The lobby and other areas smelled of smoke, the linens were dirty, the beds were worn out - pathetic to say the least. Dont even bother staying in this hotel - even if they offer free rooms. To think I spent so much money and planning to take my family for the July 4th week end - it was a disaster.
