Condominiums are a home-away-from-home on Panama City Beach
Every unit at the Sunbird Condominiums has spectacular Gulf views and its own individual style. Its fully landscaped pool deck and three big, Gulf-side pools add to the tropical feel. With a wide, clean private beach just steps away, with Hobie Cats, parasailing and WaveRunners available, there is plenty to do. There are also lighted tennis courts, beach volleyball and shuffleboard at the Sunbird Condominiums. Weekend getaway
Everything was great, but the check in is off site and the fees are a bit high, $149 extra for a couple on a 2 night stay.

Spring Break night
In 2008 when we stayed at the Sunbird, it was a lot better and nicer, this year it was a horrible experience. I did tell the assistant manager. To begin with, the mattress in the bedroom was old and felt as if you were sleeping on a stiff mat on the floor, it was very rickety also. The shower head was broke and moved all over. The sofa sleeper mattress was thin and old and the springs were broke and it laid out at an angle. The carpet was very old and dirty and we prayed we wouldn't get fungus on our feet. When we first walked in there was garbage in the window seal. This was a horrible room and we will not stay there again.

It was horrible...had to pay additional fees at check in which i wasn't notified of such fees. Check in is a mile away from the hotel and during spring break traffic is packed. The security guard harassed me and my guests i.e. follow us up to our room, ask us questions whenever we entered or exited the property. And no clean towels. Had to wash our own towels.

spring break 2010
when I got to the hotel, I had to go down the road to another location to check in, which no one told me before hand. Then I got charged 128 dollar cleaning fee that i had no idea I had to pay until I checked in, which was none refundable. Then i had to bring the keys back to another location at 230 in the mornig when I checked out, which was a real pain.

Not stellar, not awful
The Sunbird condos were a great location, especially for watching Ironman Florida. It was within walking distance of the race, gas station, Waffle House, and shops. The view of the ocean was nice and it was easy access to walk out onto the beach. The toilet wouldn't fully flush, so we couldn't do all of our business in our unit. The toaster didn't work, so we had toast bagels on the stovetop. It was nice to have an oven, coffee maker, dishes, and dishwasher. The shower worked great. The condo was well stocked with sheets, blankets and pillows. I would stay at Sunbird again, but knowing not to expect the best. The unit served its purpose.

The booking experience was the easiest!!!! The best ever:) The rooms were ok, old (need to be remodled) and no hot water. All I can say is...we love booking with orbitz!!! However the location

Family friendly
The Sunbird was a good place to take your family. There other kids there but it was not loud or crowded. We liked the location and the we were right next door to Pineapple Willies. The room was clean and well appointed.

If the kids are tired of hamburgers and highway fast food, try the wonderful ribs next door at Pineapple Willies. It's cheap and family-friendly.
