Dining

Hellas Restaurant
Hellas Restaurant offers many passed down family recipes. For those of you not familiar with Greek cuisine our always friendly and courteous wait staff will be happy to help you make your decision. Our appetizers include Saganaki, Skordalia (potato-garlic spread) and the traditional Greek Avgolemono (egg and lemon soup). Many diners come for the traditional Greek salad. It's rich mass of lettuce, Feta cheese, Greek olives, onions, cucumbers, tomatoes, Greek peppers and oregano, topped with the traditional scoop of our family's secret recipie homemade potato salad. For lunch and dinner, in addition to the standard Greek fare of gyros, hamburgers and sandwiches, Hellas offers spanakopita (spinach pie), dolmades (stuffed grape vine leaves) and Greek combination platters. Seafood selections range from Shrimp la Hellas (pan-fried shrimp in butter and garlic) to Leg of Spring Lamb or Greek inspired Lamb Chops.
Gino's New York Style Pizzeria
Here at Gino's, Italian food is made with the finest ingredients and lovingly prepared by a staff that considers cooking an art. Every meal at Gino's is prepared in the Italian tradition of buon gusto. This is why Gino's has been a favorite of discerning North Pinellas residents for so many years. Enjoy!
Rusty Bellies Waterfront Grill
Rusty Bellies Waterfront Grill, located in the historic Sponge Docks in Tarpon Springs, is a family owned and operated waterfront seafood restaurant specializing in FRESH, FLORIDA, WILD CAUGHT seafood. For over 30 years our family has owned and operated Pelican Point Seafood, a full service seafood market that unloads only the freshest seafood caught by local fisherman. We have supplied fresh seafood to the entire Tampa Bay area for over 30 years...come see why! In addition to the local fisherman, Rusty Bellies and Pelican Point own and operate their own 85ft steel shrimp boat, grouper boat, and stone crab boat. We believe our seafood is of the highest quality you will find anywhere in the World. We invite you to visit us today! Enjoy the waterfront deck, live music, full bar, and the working waterfront where our various boats unload the days catch.
Mr. Souvlaki
Pass Snookers (feed live gators!) and the recently defunct Original Pappas Shrimp Boat, and on your right you'll find Mr. Souvlaki just before the turn onto Dodecanese. It's a casual, diner-like affair, nothing glamorous, known for its gargantuan portions and reasonable prices.THE DISH: Are you serious? Did you read the name? Souvlaki is the thing, but locals swear by the "Greek chow mein." I dunno about that, but the Greek salad here is vast, with a scoop of potato salad hidden craftily in its midst (it's a Tarpon thing).
Ozona Blue Grilling Co.
Welcome to Ozona Blue Grilling Co., the perfect blend between upscale dining and Floridian fun. There's something for everyone here; whether you prefer to be outdoors enjoying the live band, breathtaking views, and poolside service, or you prefer to be served indoors, soaking in the lovely ambiance and tasting our masterfully prepared dishes.Ozona Blue was opened in November 2006, named after the great town of Ozona and the color of our refreshing swimming pool. Found on the water at Home Port Marina, its location lives up to its name. It's not just the location that makes Ozona Blue the hottest spot in Palm Harbor - the food is awesome, with something to satisfy even the most discerning palate. We serve up juicy, choice cut filet mignon, flavorful fish tacos, perfectly seasoned and chilled Ahi tuna, steamed-to-order lobster, and so much more.
Paul's Shrimp House
The year was 1940. Nestled in this unique Greek fishing village (Tarpon Springs, Florida) shrimpers, Greek sponge divers, fisherman and tourists found themselves a home at Paul's. The original owner "Paul" would give the fisherman beer for their trips. In return, the fisherman would bring Paul fresh fish, shrimp or items from the sea. This type of relationship would build the foundation of Paul's Shrimp House. Since 1940, Paul's Shrimp House has evolved by serving more types of delicious seafood. To this day you will find local fishermen, Greek sponge divers, tourists, locals, friends and family enjoying fresh seafood at Paul's Shrimp House.

Good value, for a nice place to sleep

For what we were looking for, a nice place to sleep without anything "fancy-schmancy", as they say, it was a good place and a good value. Its proximity to Tarpon Springs, 4 miles to the center of town, as well as other points of interest in the area, was a plus. The reception dest staff was pleasant and informative, the housekeeper Isabela was really nice, attentive and always kept the room nice. The room was large enough for my family, furnished appropriately, generally clean, room temperature was comfortable. The reception area was well stocked with borchures, maps and other information. We were satisfied with the continetal breakfast, the pool and hot tub were a nice amenity. It would have been good if the room did not have a carpet, as carpets do maintain allergens, dirt and odors in spite of regular cleaning. One of the staff at the reception stated that not all rooms have carpets and the hotel is considering removing them altogether. (there was not other room available at the time without a carpet-my children and wife do have some allergies, nothing major took place thankfully) The special request for a crib could not be honored, instead, a playpen was provided for what was supposed to be an extra-charge $50. At the time, I stated that Cheap Tickets had no indication on its site regarding such charge, I was told, that since Cheap Tickets is a third party, they would not be aware of this. I decided not to argue this. Nevertheless, to date, said charge has not be added to my credit card, so I am assuming that it was foregone. A little bar would have been a nice addition to the pool area. Overall it was a nice place which has the potential to be even better. The on-going renovations are hopefully aiming to do just that. We are willing to consider it again, upon any potential future visits to the area.

Shopping tip: Short drive from hotel

Tarpon Springs is only several minutes away driving, there are shopping malls right off hwy 19, restaurants, gas stations, etc. Circulars and local publications as well local maps show many of these.

will be better next week when new owners take over

everything looked like good value upon entering. Great staff, nice lobby. Not so the room-the room had moldy smell and felt like the whole bed, etc were sort of damp. Finally I opened the balcony door and blasted the A/C and by morning it was fine..but I was leaving. Pillows were too large for the pillow cases so I was forced to keep my face away from the nasty end that I am sure others has been using. Pillows were hard as rocks. Other motels get those ffluffy pillows- Target sells them for $4.00..which fit into cases, and are easily washed. Horrible night!! Will not return! Also the "breakfast" was way below what other less expensive hotels and motels offer!! I have had much better on all accounts for $47.00 NOT $79.00!! ( be glad to list the better hotels for you)

Deceptive and Terrible Service!

On the booking site they gave me two choices for rooms one for king bed with water view and one with double beds with water view so I picked the king bed with the water view. When I got to the hotel I tried to show the kid at the desk the email with the confirmation code for my room and he wouldn't even look at it. He said it doesn't matter because he hadn't received the email from the booking site in his email. I didn't even think he was going to let me have a room so then he took my debit card and put a $98.00 hold on it which is more than the room cost me on the booking site to begin with! I blew it off cause I had a cab waiting to take me to dinner and took my bags to the room and open the curtains because I had told the kid I reserved a room with a waterfront view ... and sure enough I had a roof view!! I went back to the desk and he said it was all he had although the parking lot was empty! So the next day I ask for the manager and was informed by her that all rooms are "water view" because the hotel is on the water and that it doesn't matter if you can actually see the water from your room! She was very rude and not helpful at all! I will not return again! I only picked the low rated hotel because the price is actually cheap if you have a "water view" but soooo not worth the price at all for the hotel with no view.
