A wonderful weekend trip!!
This was the honeymoon we were not able to take. The staff were friendly and helpful.The complimentary breakfast buffet was nice, and they had a good selection. We went to Universal Studios which was about a 20 minute walk. There were places to dine in the area. Overall we came to relax and we were able to do that.

Back to Basics in Orlando
Located near Universal Studios in Orlando, the Wingate Hotel stands above the rest of the crowd by doing everything right. The hotel is located off Kirkman Road and on a cul-de-sac that is hsrd to find unless you have a GPS.(Turn right by IHOP). The Wingate has a green attitude, a good, free, hot breakfast, WiFi, a microwave and refrig in each room. They have padding and grab bars in the tub and shower so you don't slip and fall. The front desk staff is knowledgable and will print out maps on Mapquest for you. The outdoor pool is small but is in the sun until it goes down. Parking is free and they have a shuttle to nearby locations including Universal which will save you $14/day.

Along Kirkman Road, there are many restaurants ranging from Burger King to Orlando Ale House to Golden Corral and Pizza. It's much less expensive than eating at the City Walk in Universal Studios.

Good value
Staff was very friendly, complimentary breakfast was better than most with waffles, sausages & eggs. Decaf and regular coffee available free in lobby continuously. Husband liked whirlpool after a long day of site seeing. Very large rooms, wonderful beds - very comfortable. It was nice to have a refrigerator and microwave in the room for leftovers. Lots of good restaurants close by and easy access to major highways and attractions. Negatives --- guest rooms not very clean - lots of dust around edges of carpeting near wall, and mold in the toilet. If you're not allergic to dust and/or mold this was a good value for the money.

visit a friend in Orlando. 1.The fitness center needs to update the new equipment (the treadmills is too old to work out) 2.The phone in the room did not work to call the front desk. 3. The a/c make too much noise while running...

Great service and clean rooms
Great hotel for the price. Excellent service and the young woman working the desk was H-O-T HOT and very nice! The facilities were very nice as was the continental breakfast. The only drawback is that the hotel was hard to find, but once we found it we were very happy. Would definitely stay there again.

our first vacation
well the staff was very friendly from the minute we arrived there, i really like the location we were at very quiet nd i would suggest the hotel to anyone of my family & friends. i can't wait to go back!!!

Had A Great Time With Family of 5 !!
Breakfast bar was a good suprise! Saved lots of money on not buying 5 breakfast for 4 days! Family went to Universal took less than 5 min. to and from all had a great time close to dinning just far enough away from crowded International Dr.No complaints here great value for the money!
