1st visit w/Russian friends to Universal properties
The Royal Pacific Resort was excellent! This was a terrific choice for us based on ages 58-73, and budget (under $1,000 each for 3 day stay & 2 travel days.) We were within the park as requested so water taxi, shuttle & peddy-cabs were available. We stayed on the Club Floor with four food services each day including dinner (what they called snacks), free wine & beer, personal concierge services, Express Passes to rides, nice pool, splendid orchids everywhere. Two flew from DC and one from NC and arrangements were made for a shuttle round trip from airport in Orlando. All vouchers and plans were just as your fine representative described, I wish I knew her full name so she can be commended. Thanks, Karen Ciener (I did speak to her supervisor to compliment her)

Halloween Horror Nights
We have stayed here on several occasions and every time is fantastic! Emeril's Tchoup Chop restaurant located in the hotel is excellent. Within minutes walking distance from Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, and CityWalk. Use your room key as your FastPass.

Great, but no water slide
Great place to stay. Dissappointed that there is no water slide in the pool. The two queen beds room is spacious for 4 people. 7 minute walk to Islands of Adventure.

Dining tip:
Short walk from hotel
Emirel's Tchoup Chop restaurant is located in the hotel and Emirel's restaurant in Universal Studios is within a 7-minute walk. However, do make reservations.

Great vacay!
After reading some reviews I wasn't sure what to expect. I read a lot of positive ones and a lot of negative ones so I tried not to expect too much. Keep in mind that we stayed here in October, when it is considered the "off season" so a lot of elements could be different than if you were to stay here say in May, June or July. We paid about $770 for 5 nights/ 6 days here. First off, the property is great. The island theme wasn't over-exaggerated or anything so the decor was just right. Definitely helped us to relax and take us out of the busy NYC metro-mindset. Also, the workers are very friendly and very helpful - they answered every question I had with a positive attitude. The location is perfect if you're planning on going to the Universal theme parks. The primary reason of why we came here was because my girlfriend wanted to take advantage of the early park admission they offered for The Wizarding World of Harry Potter - that helped a ton! Even though it was the off season that's the most popular attraction at Islands of Adventure right now. We got to enter the park an hour early and beat the lines. From Royal Pacific, there's a couple of ways to get to the park (all free). We took the water taxi most of the time but also did the 10-15 minute walk when we had the energy. We ate at the Islands dining room for breakfast and had the breakfast buffet a couple of times ($19/person). They also offer a continental breakfast at the hotel that's not as pricey (about $15 for a couple of pastries and drinks for the two of us), so it depends on your mood. There are a number of dining options on the grounds so be sure to check out the menus and prices. Otherwise, there's also a number of restaurants at the Universal City Walk that are also good for dinner. Transportation to the Universal parks was easy. For getting to/from the airport we bought tickets for Mears Transportation that was about $36 round-trip/person. We also hired Mears to take us to/from the Disney parks since we didn't have a rental car. That was $18 round-trip/person and they can drop you off and pick you up at different parks if you're doing multiple in a day. Disney has a free inter-park transportation system so no need to hire a cab or shuttle to get from one park to the next. All in all this was a great pick. Yes, there's a lot you have to pay for that's not complimentary with this hotel. However, getting early access to the parks, a FastPass, and easy/free transportation to the Universal properties is definitely worth it.

Pricy with great extras
Hotel is good but not fantastic. Meals, drinks etc are pricy but wat hit us was the car parking charges a whopping $16 PER DAY - it can also be very busy which means it becomes very difficult to find a space other than the overflow car park (which is a "walk" away from reception). However the "fast track" passes to Universal and the "1 hour before opening" deal into the parks compensate somewhat

Banished if you are with a pet
Loews says they "love pets" but that is not true. They barely tolerate pets. We came with our small dog after spending a few days in the Florida Keys. At the Sheraton Suites in Key West we felt that THEY really love pets. At Loews Royal Pacific, we were banished to the first floor of one of the towers where all the people with dogs are banished to. The whole hallway stinks and the rooms are not clean and they smell. At the Sheraton Suites Key West, you could stay in any room you would otherwise stay in regardless of whether you have a pet. I'm sure they clean each room well after your stay because our room was clean and did not smell bad, like old dog pee. At Loews Royal Pacific, we felt like we were being punished for bringing our little dog. The first room they tried to give us had 3 large pee stains on the rug and smelled bad. They gave us another room but it still did not smell clean, and the whole hallway leading down to the room smelled bad. For the price we paid at Loews Royal Pacific (much more than at the Sheraton Suites in Key West), we expected better. But we received more at the Sheraton Suites in Key West for less $$$.

Awesome!!
The minute we pulled up we were treated like royalty. Staff was friendly, room service was great. The best part was using the room key as an express pass for the rides. We avoided long lines and parking fees and hassles by taking the water taxi. Poolside service was a little slow but everything else was above expectation. This will be our Orlando hotel pick moving forward.

Wonderfully convenient
Used this hotel for 2 nights while we went to Universal Studios theme parks. Loved the early entry into the parks, the Express passes that came with it so we could bypass most of the long lines, and the discounts on some of our park souvenirs. Couldn't have done all of Harry Potter World and the other interesting parts in both of the theme parks in a day and a half, and survived the heat without such a great location and arrangement. Could walk 10 minutes or take the free water taxi directly to City Walk and on into the parks to start the day at 7:15am to get ahead of most of the crowds, and for easy trips back to the room. The temps were at about 100 by afternoon, so the nice pool helped, but its water was hot too. No free internet, so it kept us away from the computers for 2 days--maybe not a bad thing on vacation! In the lobby they had a free place to print our boarding passes. The staff was wonderful, room was fine and clean and comfortable beds, but not overly impressive for the high costs. Self-parking was $15 plus tax per day which was not bad considering everything. We ate in the parks or in City Walk, not at the hotel, because the hotel restaurants' higher prices would have been more than we paid on the run in the parks. But we would definitely go back to this hotel to use their benefits for going to the Universal Studios 2 Theme Parks.

Not Applicable
Staying at the hotel allows you to buy the park passes and have the Express Pass included in your package. You show your hotel room key (one per person) at many (not all) of the rides so you get up to the front section and can see and do many more things with much shorter lines.
