Price is not Everything
The Orlanda Metropolitan Resort, Orlando, Fl was not what I expected. Although a good value as far as the room rate is concered the overall experience left a lot to be desired. Soiled sheets, broken bathroom fixtures, outdated amenities and a breakfast buffet that left a bad taste in my mouth wee just the notable problems.

It is OK
This Hotel is average, does not seems to 3 star hotel. It has a great reception & entry like a five star, but once you pass that & walks in corridor, it is all ordinary. Room size is large & comfortable, bathroom is large too, However A/C unit( Radiator ) is Old style & make too much noise. Location is very good, near to most Universal,Wet Wild, Titanic Museum, Helicopter ride.

The room that we received ...
The room that we received was a dump. The beds were so hard we might as well slept on the floor. I had no sleep that night. The next morning we asked for another room, but was offered an upgrade at $25 per night. If I wanted to spend that much I would have booked a hotel room on disney grounds and saved myself the drive. After taking 2 hours to get into an upgraded room, it was already 12:00 noon and we missed hours from our day at Disney. The upgraded room was beautiful, so don't stay there unless you get an upgrade in the Tower building.

Disappointing
The Orlando Metropolitan Resort although close to Universal Studios, is definitely lacking in terms of hospitality. When we checked-in and asked about the shuttle the staff only provided us with a time table. There was never any mention of needing a bus pass (which you can get at the counter next to the check-in) until it was time to board and the bus driver asked us for the pass. So, although a minor inconvenience for us, it would have been a very nice piece of information to have the morning we decided to use the transportation. The next morning we decided to spend a day at one of the Disney parks, when I asked if tickets can be obtained at the same desk, the response was, Do you see a mouse in the house? I took that to mean they were not a Disney ticket site. The room had a very stale and musty smell to it, luckily for us we didn't spend much time there.

Not what you would expect
The Orlando Metropolitan Resort, is a hotel that I would not recommend to someone who would look for a nice, clean hotel. My family and I were very disatisfied with the amenities of this hotel. The housekeepers were very lazy, didn't clean our room very well, the floors were never swept the whole time we were there. Inside the bathroom only one of the four lights worked. The outside the paint was pilling off everywhere. The air conditoner worked very little and the elevator would shut in, it never gave you time to get out. there were old air conditoners sitting outside the elevators. The swimming area was dirty, the pool looked as if it hadn't been cleaned in days. The only thing that was ok about this place is that it was close to resturants and gift shops, other then that it is a place that I will never stay at. It is not a nice resort.

There is a Ponderosa that has a breakfast buffet and there is a GREAT place for ribs and steak, it is called Tony Romas and it is out of the parking lot in the shopping center.

Not as expected
The room was fair, the carpet was not very clean. I thought that using the hotels pool and gym were part of the package but when I checked out I had to pay a small fee for the use of these facilities so I was not pleased with that. over all this Hotel was no more than an upgraded motel and I would not stay there again.

The hotel was nice and the location is great
The hotel rooms are big and it has great location, close to Universal Studios. The only problem that I had is one of the days they didn't do housekeeping. I didn't get to know the hotel amenities because I spent the majority of the time out.
